I couldn’t quit listening!

The story was so well written I found myself smitten with all the characters, but the audible reader brought it to life! I found myself weak kneed when the main character was wooed by her pursuer just from the reader’s use of different voices! I can’t wait to read more of Tamera’s novels! You will love this book!

Charming story with great narration

Beautifully written, unique and easy listening story with historical basis. A really fun listen enhanced by a great narrator.

decent. very predictable plot.

worth a listen once. i really like the narrator from gone with the wind that's why i grabbed this one. story is ok but very predictable and then ends abruptly with no real feeling of resolution because there was never any tension because you know how it's going to end...

Great historic read

This book catches your attention at the beginning, and holds it captive through the whole book. One of the characters has been thoroughly researched, and is based on a true life person. The house and surroundings are also based on a home that still exists from the Civil War time. It’s clear the author did extensive research before writing this book.

A young woman, forced by her father to do something wrong, sees the error of her ways, and makes changes to live a life that glorifies God. Her past does come back to visit and causes many problems, but God’s faithfulness is shown throughout. It was a very good read, well,, listen, narrated well, and an unforgettable story. I stayed up way too late several nights because I couldn’t stop listening.

Wow. First let me say I tried to fast forward before the authors comment. It wouldn’t let me and oh I am so glad it didn’t. It’s rich truths blessed me so much!! ❤️❤️

Next, the book. I couldn’t hardly put it down, I was drawn to the story as if I were there. I really appreciate the spiritual application with scripture thru out.
I loved the storyline with its intrigue. I could hardly wait for Clair to tell the truth. I kept waiting for the shoe to drop and the implications. I told you I felt as there I was there. Lol
The clean romantic story was well done.
I enjoyed the narrator very much.
Ready for more books!

Nice historical fiction

It seems like a lot is repeated unnecessarily. It is an interesting historical fiction piece none the less.

Typical Tamera Alexander. Clean Romance in a historical setting. Well crafted characters.

This book is about change, sacrifice, loss, love, faith and growth.

This book was a joy to listen to - the story plot was very intriguing, and the narrator was excellent! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to more by this author with hopefully the same narrator! Good stuff!!!
