Urban Fantasy Romance at its best

This is one of those series that is getting better and better with every re-listen since there's a lot of things going on, there's a lot of world-building and info given and for me something more sticks every time in my memory that I previously missed, discovering just how much work has gone into the story.

It's June and Patrick Collins comes to New York for a case that the chief of Police made an appeal to the SoA, the alphabet agency Patrick is working for after leaving the Mage Corps (military).

The case will take him to meet Marek who is a seer and affiliated with the Tempest Pack. After their quite disastrous meeting, Patrick will go to the Tempest (the pack's bar) to talk with him but sparks will fly and chemistry will ignite between him and Jonothon de Vere.

This is the beginning of their story and how Jono slowly but surely will strive to curb Patrick's bad tendencies towards self-preservation.

Gary Furlong did an amazing job narrating with distinct voices between MCs so you never had to wonder who was talking, a great pace and getting emotions across.

Comencé a leer el libro antes de conseguirme el audiolibro. No había ni terminado el capitulo 10 cuando vi una publicidad del audiolibro y me dije que tenía que hacerme también con él. A demás de que con él precio del whispersync terminó siendo una ganga.

Increíble la historia, increíble el narrador, definitivamente continuaré con las siguientes entregas.

Love the whole series

I loved these books. The whole series was great! I noticed that some people complained about Gary Furlong's narration but I just don't get it. I really liked what he did with the characters. After listening to the first book I was like "Audible, take my money" because I had to buy extra credits just to get the rest of the series right away, because I couldn't wait. So yeah not sure what others have issues with because I loved it all.

Very good plot

Overall quite engaging, I will be going on to the next in the series.

One distracting, detracting thing was the overuse of “preternatural.” Come on!

Rather a lot of Character Variants

Not your typical fantasy with one or two different types of creatures and magic users. Still, overall it was amusing and fanciful.

Patrick is the person other professionals call in with they find themselves out of their depth, but even Patrick has his limits and weaknesses. When Patrick is sent to investigate a case in New York City, he soon finds himself facing the dark secrets from his past. Jonothon de Vere is a werewolf looking for his pack. Alone, except for a few steady friendships, Jono finds himself drawn to Patrick and vice versa. The chemistry between these young men is explosive and undeniable. Together, both Patrick and Jono will have to learn how to navigate their new budding relationship and fight against an evil so intense and powerful it’ll take myth like power to overcome.

I cannot express how much I adored this book. It actually took me off guard how much I fell in love with this novel – especially so quickly and so hard. Hailey Turner is not only a fantastic writer, but she has a talent for details that add credibility to her world building and make even the most fantastical magical element feel real and possible. The plot was thrilling and unique, although it had familiar paranormal and fantasy tropes, and the characterization of all the different characters was incredible. There was not one character that felt flat or undeveloped, no matter how short their appearance was in the book.

Overall, I absolutely love this book and devoured the entire series that is available (up to book four right now) in a week. I can’t recommend this book enough.

The Fight Isn't Done

Magic, shifters, vampires, fae, gods, BAMF MC's and a well written plot. A Ferry of Bones & Gold has it all. This is a must read for anyone who likes the elements above. I've already bought and downloaded the next two installments (before I was even a quarter into the first)! That should say alot. If you like the Aberrant Magic series by Lyn Gala then this Soulbound series is for you.

Gary Furlong did a magnificent job bringing this book to life!

Obsessed

I have listened to the whole series and I’m making my way through a second time. I love everything about this audiobook. The narrator captures all of the characters so well. The story is so good, it’s hard to stop once you start.
