Acerca de esta escucha

Number one New York Times best seller

One of the greatest minds of our time explores profound questions such as: How did the universe begin — and what made its start possible? Does time always flow forward? Is the universe unending — or are there boundaries? Are there other dimensions in space? What will happen when it all ends?

Told in language we all can understand, A Brief History of Time plunges into the exotic realms of black holes and quarks, of antimatter and “arrows of time,” of the big bang and a bigger God — where the possibilities are wondrous and unexpected. Stephen Hawking brings us closer to the ultimate secrets at the very heart of creation.

Great Content Horrible Production

The content was superb and understandable. However, the production quality was so bad it was challenging to make it though the book. There seems to have been no effort in ensuring a quality performance. From listen to pages turn to awkward pauses where the performer seem to stumble, this sound need like the performer read the book while seated in front of a iPhone then immediately uploaded.

Anti-God theme

A great book, well written. Just be ready for Stephen Hawking’s anti-God theme throughout the entire book. How I wish An Arthur would just write a book on the material of their expertise instead of using their books as a soapbox to pass their personal beliefs on to the readers.

great content, poor narration

The Narrator's tone and pauses were difficult for me to keep up with for such heavy scientific topic

Out of the loop no longer!

Best introduction to the physics world for people without an idea of what it is.

A load of dingo’s kidneys

Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy is a far better book on astrophysics.

"I refuse to prove that I exist," says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing."

"But," says Man, "The Babel fish is a dead giveaway, isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you exist, and so therefore, by your own arguments, you don't. QED."

"Oh dear," says God, "I hadn't thought of that," and promptly vanished in a puff of logic.

"Oh, that was easy," says Man, and for an encore goes on to prove that black is white and gets himself killed on the next zebra crossing.

Most leading theologians claim that this argument is a load of dingo's kidneys, but that didn't stop Stephen Hawking from making a small fortune when he used it as the central theme of his best selling book 'A brief history of time.’

Glad I finally got to get through

I’m really impressed and surprise how digestible This was. I had an impression That it was going to be pretty heady stuff it turned out to be quite accessible and I am grateful for Steven’s effort and explaining this in laments terms. Much more like Carl Segan or Neil Degrasse Tyson than I would have guessed

It still doesn't discount God

Very deep and impacted. Extraordinary glimpse into the mind of a genius. I think it shows that physics and religion are attempting to explain the same thing.
