Acerca de esta escucha

Something is rotten at the Oakton Academy for Distinguished Young Gentlemen.

With rumors of fighting, cheating, and all-night parties—and that’s just the teachers—the headmaster is losing control of the school.

When a body is discovered, bludgeoned to death with a monkey statue on the last day of term, renowned detective Lord Edgington and his bumbling grandson Christopher are on hand to search for the killer. But with such a range of despicable suspects—again, that's just the teachers—plotting prefects, and maniacal students to choose from, will the discordant duo be up to the challenge?

The second book in the Lord Edgington Investigates mystery series has all the intrigue, humor, and twists of its best-selling predecessor, Murder at the Spring Ball.

A Body at a Boarding School is a 1920s-style whodunnit in a wonderfully wicked setting with a cast of curious characters to enjoy. Discover whether the great Lord Edgington can catch the killer and be home in time for afternoon tea.

Narrated by George Blagden from the TV shows Vikings, Versailles, and the Oscar-winning film Les Misérables.

Clever dialogue, good plot and enjoyable characters

This was a delightful story, clever and well written. Especially enjoyable was how each character was presented and acted by the narrator. Excellent job with the narration, George! ( a.k.a ..Athelstan of Vikings)

Delightful story!

This was the second book of Benedict Brown’s that I've listened to. I like his style of relating the inner impressions of Chrissy.…a 16 year old that is growing in knowledge while being plagued with doubt. Great method of teaching investigative ability, too.

Great narration and story

Another cosy crime mystery by Benedict Brown which I enjoyed thoroughly. Very interesting and fun characters, especially some of the shady characters, who provided quite a fair bit of LOL time.
Narrator was fantastic! He gave so much life to each character.

Could have been more polished; however, enjoyed.

This is one of Brown’s earlier writings. It is interesting to hear him progress into a better writer. With this said, although parts of the writing I find absurd, the overall story is enjoyable. Could

Woven History

I love how the history is woven through the story and the perspective of both a teenager and a septuagenarian teaming up together.

Clever with wonderful characters!

This book follows the first with humor and endearing characters, especially the narrator, this humor is greater this second time because the victims are not family members, and the woes of a boy in a boarding school provide much more fodder. The narrator is excellent and captures each voice just right. Enjoy!

A delightful series!

Benedict Brown has created a perfect example of a classic British cozy mystery series. The characters are thoroughly lovable and the plot twists and turns engaging. Add to that George Blangden's wonderful narration and you have a series that so far (I'm currently listening to the third title) leaves absoulutely nothing to be desired.
