The harrowing, true account from the brave men on the ground who fought back during the Battle of Benghazi—and the basis of the movie starring Jon Krasinski and directed by Michael Bay.

13 Hours presents, for the first time ever, the true account of the events of September 11, 2012, when terrorists attacked the US State Department Special Mission Compound and a nearby CIA station called the Annex in Benghazi, Libya. A team of six American security operators fought to repel the attackers and protect the Americans stationed there. Those men went beyond the call of duty, performing extraordinary acts of courage and heroism, to avert tragedy on a much larger scale. This is their personal account, never before told, of what happened during the thirteen hours of that now-infamous attack.

13 Hours sets the record straight on what happened during a night that has been shrouded in mystery and controversy. Written by New York Times bestselling author Mitchell Zuckoff, this riveting book takes listeners into the action-packed story of heroes who laid their lives on the line for one another, for their countrymen, and for their country.

13 Hours is a stunning, eye-opening, and intense book—but most importantly, it is the truth. The story of what happened to these men—and what they accomplished—is unforgettable.

This is a tremendous retelling of what really happened in Benghazi. This is the stuff that we should see on the news and hear about. The story is read more like a documentary than drama, but you still get a chance to know the characters a little. Thank you to these brave men.

Finally the truth.

I had heard about Ben Ghazi. Like the books says , Americans go about their daily routines without a single thought of the struggle these other countries face. This book will open your eyes to the Best American soldiers, specialist, and GRS agents to ever exist. Shame on our government for not helping these Americans in their most desperate moment. The GRS agents would have fought to save every single person who chose to do nothing. We let these men down. They could never be compensated for their loses. The book was well written and easy to follow the detailed time line. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

What was one of the most memorable moments of 13 Hours?

Realizing that no matter who in our government ignored what was going on it was still the US government that left our people to die.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I didn't know much about what happened. It has been over shadowed by blame and Hillary Clinton. Why were we there? Why did this place matter? Why did the US government leave these people there alone and only have a few contract security. Sometimes this book was hard to listen to because of the attacks and helplessness of the Americans in harms way. It is an excellent read and very well done. It is very enlightening.

Amazing
