Historia
Esme Cahill thinks she has failed spectacularly: fired from her New York City publishing job, divorced from her husband, and possessing little more than a broken-down car and a pile of unfinished manuscripts, she drives home to Asheville at the request of her late grandmother, Adele, who had begged her, just before she died, to return to the place she grew up. There she discovers the once-charming lakeside retreat run by her family is sliding toward financial ruin.

Great summer read!
Revisado: 07-13-23
The area around Asheville is one of my favorite places. A neighbor introduced me to Marie Bostwick and I’m so glad! While listening to this story, I felt like I was a guest at the lodge and what a great getaway it was.
I could relate to Esme and all her “failures” and I loved being along for the ride. Now I’ll be seeking out other Marie Bostwick novels.

Historia
Leaving one widow behind is unfortunate. Leaving three widows behind is just plain despicable. Oil heiress Kate Steele knew her not-so-dearly departed husband was a con man, but she's shocked that Conrad racked up two more wives without divorcing her first. The only remnant of their miserable marriage she plans to keep is their lakeside cabin in Bootleg, Texas. Unfortunately, she's not the only woman with that idea.

Fun chick read
Revisado: 02-15-23
I read a lot of historical fiction that can often be heavy. So I mentioned to a friend that I needed a light read and she suggested the Barefoot Summer. It was the perfect book. I loved the characters and the story and most of all the resolution.

Historia
Burned out and tired as hell, the only thing ex-cop Holt Bradford wanted to do was relax. But when beautiful single mom Suzanna invaded his solitude to search for the missing Calhoun emeralds, he couldn't say no. Holt was no longer the bad-boy teen Suzanna remembered. He'd grown into a dangerously sexy man--all the more reason to keep a safe distance. Suzanna wouldn't risk her well-ordered life for a man who could make her mouth go dry with a simple glance.

More Calhouns
Revisado: 02-09-23
I’ve enjoyed this series and listened too e after the other. While I think Rocco sounded a bit too manly, I thought this was an entertaining listen.

Historia
Monday mornings aren’t supposed to be fun, but they should be predictable. However, on this particular Monday, Stephanie Plum knows that something is amiss when she turns up for work at Vinnie’s Bail Bonds to find that longtime office manager Connie Rosolli, who is as reliable as the tides in Atlantic City, hasn’t shown up. Stephanie’s worst fears are confirmed when she gets a call from Connie’s abductor. He says he will only release her in exchange for a mysterious coin that a recently murdered man left as collateral for his bail.

Another book full of laugh out loud adventures! Also plenty of Grandma Mazure, Lula, Morelli and (swoon) Ranger.
An easy and fun read!
