Historia
The city of the gods. Elantris once stood as the symbol of all that is beautiful. A sprawling metropolis of unrivaled grandeur, it was a symbol of power and strength, built to be as imposing as it was magnificent. The only thing more glorious than the city itself was its inhabitants, Godlike beings, with silvery skin and hair of the purest, flowing white. Able to create powerful magics with a mere wave of their hands, the Elantrians were able to heal mortal wounds and create any object they desired. To be an Elantrian was to be without sickness, without pain and without want.

Worst Ever—avoid Graphoc Audio Crap!!!
Revisado: 03-10-25
It started as a decent Sanderson novel and devolved into some sort of fake and gay drivel. Sanderson seems to have become Trumper extraordinaire. The most annoying Sanderson book ever. Great female heroines. Good pace. Rotten acting. Horrible reading. Overwrought.

Oddly Delightful
Revisado: 03-09-25
I’ve enjoyed most of his works, still too (insert political metaphor) and whiny. This one is a fun collection; the post modern self-reflections and authors’ words of explanation sometimes worked and sometimes didn’t.

Historia
Over the last 220 years, society has evolved a universal belief that electricity is "safe" for humanity and the planet. Scientist and journalist Arthur Firstenberg disrupts this conviction by telling the story of electricity in a way it has never been told before - from an environmental point of view - by detailing the effects that this fundamental societal building block has had on our health and our planet.

An area worth considering
Revisado: 04-22-24
The books is a loose survey of anecdotal stories and historical survey focused on electricity and its relationships to and with biological beings from insects to the enemy. It gives an alternative view of environmental pollution from electronic sources.
More research needs to be done in these areas. It would be interesting. I’m not convinced that the issue is more than one of many factors.
The relationship between flu and sun activity is interesting. The application to cattle and flu require way more research.

Historia
This book which we've been working on for the last four years is called the The Movie of Me to the Movie of We. Everyone has a "Movie of Me" that they firmly believe in. As Krishna Das says, "You wake up in the morning, and you are the star, producer, writer, director, and cinematographer of the Movie of Me 24/7." In fact, we write our own reviews! That constant self-referential point of view leads to daily angst and unhappiness. In this book, we discuss and share ways to transform what the Buddhists call 'self-cherishing' into a deep connectivity with all of life itself.

Chapter 10 is outstanding
Revisado: 01-09-24
The heart of this is beautiful. His ignorance of science and radical misunderstanding of real data, solar cycle, and the weforum.org scam of carbon focus. It gets in the way of primary message when he pushes Erin’s environmental wacko perspective. But Chapter 10 is the saving grace where the depth of from me to we is given a reality that is beyond just beauty. Duncan is growing into a beautiful young dad. Joy to all who enjoy the many nuggets of wisdom in this series of semi-connected conversations.

Historia
Was America founded on the auction block in Jamestown in 1619 or aboard the Mayflower in 1620? The controversy erupted in August 2019 when the New York Times announced its 1619 Project. The Times set to transform history by asserting that all the laws, material gains, and cultural achievements of Americans are rooted in the exploitation of African Americans. Historians have pushed back, saying that the 1619 Project conjures a false narrative out of racial grievance.

Revisado: 01-03-24
Meticulously debunks the lies and racist propaganda that is the false narrative of the 1619 project.
Want to teach good history, Howard Zinn is a great start. 1619 project is evil attempt to create division where it isn’t; 1619’s attempt to memory hole reality in favor of its false narrative is thoroughly debunked in this work. 1620 shows why the narrative isn’t just a lie, but harmful myth making to destroy the foundations of the American identity.

Historia
The New York Times Magazine’s award-winning “1619 Project” issue reframed our understanding of American history by placing slavery and its continuing legacy at the center of our national narrative. This new book substantially expands on that work, weaving together 18 essays that explore the legacy of slavery in present-day America with 36 poems and works of fiction that illuminate key moments of oppression, struggle, and resistance.

Revisado: 01-03-24
If you want to understand the anti-white racism of academia in the early 2020s, this books shows the ideological misreading and revisionist history to push the fervent hatred being taught at US universities. Lord Soros achieves his goals with this propaganda of repeated lie after lie.

Historia
Progressive Stages of Meditation on Emptiness is a series of meditation practices on Emptiness, a particular aspect of the Buddha's teachings. The idea is that by beginning with one's first rather coarse commonsense understanding, one progresses through increasingly subtle and more refined stages until one arrives at complete and perfect understanding. Each stage in the process prepares the mind for the next in so far as each step is fully integrated into one's understanding through the meditation process.

Great Dharma, invaluable description of path

Disappointed
Revisado: 01-03-24
It was a very clear overview but lacked any specifics for meditating or progressing. Its primary benefit will be to further immerse the reader into deeper understanding of the concepts to get toward a non-conceptual but actual experience. Again, specific methods will require a guru, not in book.
I was hoping for better because of recommendations. Still, it is an important text to many Buddhists. Lama Yeshe’s books are far superior to this in terms of methods to work toward the necessary stages.
My take: too much head and intellectual stuff in this, not enough practice or heart stuff.

A group of adventurers searching for a cure for comatose children find themselves trapped in a sequence of virtual worlds, the only opponents of a conspiracy of the rich to live forever in a dream. Now, they are forced to make an uneasy alliance with their only surviving former enemy against his treacherous sidekick Johnny Wulgaru, a serial killer with a chance to play God forever. Few science fiction sagas have achieved the level of critical acclaim - and best-selling popularity - as Tad Williams's Otherland novels.
