Ah, Nyil, with its magic, its monsters, and its petty gods. A divine spat leaves French medic Viv stranded in the middle of an arcane disaster zone crawling with undead horrors. Thankfully, there are strange allies to be found, not least the mysterious interface that helps humans survive in this merciless world. Viv will have to progress fast to survive this calamity and find civilisation. She will also need a bit of luck. Unless, of course, she becomes the calamity herself. After all, luck is such a fickle thing.

i have been hoping for an audio book version of this series. its that perfect blend of snarky and exciting, irreverant and intense. the characters are so well developed, and soundbooth nailed this production. i cant wait for the rest of the series (up to book 9 as of this moment!)

Illeas adventures continue in a very satisfying next chunk of the story. I wish it was all here to listen to already! She takes a big jump forward in power and explores new places. always looking for the next Drake!

Story and Narrator can't be beat

Parsneau is amazing at what she does. this is another great example.
Schinhofen writes another great story that includes enough insight to the main characters so you understand where they are coming from and background to make them wonderfully real. The dedication of the two MCs to each other is heartwarming. I want more as soon as we can get it.
