I’ve enjoyed the previous books. I had some issues with the main character, but as a story as a whole, I enjoyed it. This book, though I feel like every character has gotten dumber.lEspecially the main character. I’m thinking about returning the book.

What an awesome book

I loved it. As a cat owner I can completely appreciate the main character. Narrator was great and it’s real nice to listen to a large complete story rather than a series. I drive a truck for a living and this book made my driving for the last three days very enjoyable. Thanks

Totally took me by surprise!

I only review books that I really hate like “The Fortifier” or books that take me by surprise. This one was an impulse buy and I absolutely don’t regret it. Awesome story and great narration. Highly recommend!

Holy cow I’m only 3 hours in but both these dudes love to cry. Now don’t get me wrong, people cry, hell I cried last time my cat died. Very sad. But there is entirely too much crying going on. Even his force ball is called emotional force missile. I’m gonna keep at it cause I already used my return book but holy hell this is cringe. How are so many people giving it high scores. If it gets better of course I will edit. God I hope it does.

First time reading this author. Overall I really enjoyed this book and finished it in two days of driving my truck. Story was fresh, narrator was awesome, and you really felt the weariness of the main character as the story progressed. The characters didn’t feel flat or filler but really felt part of the story. I recommend this book.

Huge Peter Clines fan here. Loved all his previous books but this one was at times unbearable. It was the characters. For most of the book you wanted to kill them yourself because of how stupid they constantly acted. Even after the main group saw thousands of zombies, they still are doubting and walking around way to calmly. Sooooo freaking aggravating.

I was wrong

I’ve been listening to this genre of books for about 4 years and it has contributed to making my trucking career very enjoyable. My first one was luck stat strategy and I was hooked ever since.
For the first three hours of this book I was seriously teetering on returning it. It just felt like a typical post apocalyptic story we’ve all read over and over. I hate doing that so you can imagine I just kept on saying “ just a little bit more”. Well it paid off and I was exposed to a book that was extremely enjoyable and fresh. For anyone who got this book and is having doubts all I can say is the beginning has a purpose. It really is one of those books that you just sink into and enjoy the ride.
