Not a great story, horrible narrators. At one point, I almost didn't complete the book due to the performance of the narrators. Not worth a second (or first) listen.

I love Mishi LaChapelle's narrations, but this story of dark versus light girls is an annoying battle that I thought we'd left in the 90s. Just not what a black woman wants to listen/read 14 hours of. Yes, this is something all black women have experienced in some form, but for me, these aren't the type of characters that would motivate me to read a sequel.

Being a Hip-Hop head, like Angie, I've always been just as interested in the journey of the figures we admire as well as the talent they possess. So inspired by her will to win, even when it didn't look promising. Definitely an icon. Great representation of the culture.

I did find it very annoying every time Sonia spoke. Least favorite character and the way she speaks so slowly, almost whispering urked me to the point that I almost stopped the book and just pulled out the hard copy.

iiKane - she is one of my favorite narrators

Can't stomach anymore, returning it before finishing. I'm good on females like this, fiction or not.

I hope they don't waste time. The title could be "When Ignorant Females Haven't Had Enough Abuse"

Extremely disappointed in the way this (seemingly) weak-willed little girl keeps chasing behind this guy, even though he's mad disrespectful and rude. She appears very weak, it's disgusting the way she allows him to keep coming back. Definitely not a character I care to know any further. Weakest character I've come across in a minute and am so displeased with her actions.
