Historia
Coexisting but conflicting needs create self-sabotaging behaviors. This is why we resist efforts to change, often until they feel completely futile. But by extracting crucial insight from our most damaging habits, building emotional intelligence by better understanding our brains and bodies, releasing past experiences at a cellular level, and learning to act as our highest potential future selves, we can step out of our own way and into our potential.

A lazy truth
Revisado: 11-12-24
The author is right. And the book was good enough I finished it. But it needed more scenarios or examples to hold the audience. It often felt like a very long podcast of the author thinking out loud. Ya…. But the information is still good, and as a psychiatrist id still recommend it to people who have some gumption sticking with dense material while absorbing the essence.

Historia
The Courage to Be Disliked, already an enormous best seller in Asia with more than 3.5 million copies sold, demonstrates how to unlock the power within yourself to be the person you truly want to be. Using the theories of Alfred Adler, one of the three giants of 20th-century psychology, The Courage to Be Disliked follows an illuminating conversation between a philosopher and a young man. The philosopher explains to his pupil how each of us is able to determine our own life, free from the shackles of past experiences, doubts, and the expectations of others.

Best self help book on the market - from a shrink
Revisado: 11-12-24
This is truly the most updated secret to life. As a psychiatrist whose spent their life reflecting on everything from buddhism to current western models for living a good life, this book approaches the fundamental building blocks of the human experience without bastardizing it by current lobbying or propaganda. This book will surpass all the bullshit fed to you from desperate sources of wisdom in your life. If you’re open, and willing to be courageous, this is all you need. If your ego can accept the simplicity.

Validating
Revisado: 11-12-24
Didn’t hear anything “new,” but as someone who grew up in a codependent family, it was validating to hear all the things i know to be true that i get gaslit for. But I’ve done a lot of therapy. If you haven’t reached this point in your life and still feel “obligated” to others, this is probably a must read.
