This story has lots of depth and emotional attachments. Great sex and great narration by Ryan West and good narration by C J Bloom.

I enjoyed this story, but it took me some time to get into it.
Same goes for the narrating. I adored Ryan West in the Masters and Mercenaries Series, but it took me quite some time to get used to the combination with CJ Bloom.

Ryan West - masterful vocal actor storyteller with sincerely engaging (obviously well thought out and well mapped out) character performances of males and females, breathing life, clear intentions and wants into all of the characters he portrays; if Ryan performed the whole book, I would have given it five Stars in the Performance category. CJ Bloom did not always have enough sincerity in character portrayals (females or males) and I'd fall out of the story distracted by CJ's narration. Sometimes it felt like CJ was focused more on creating the the twang southern Sam voice or a "pouty", "Southern" woman "vixen" voice than feeling and reacting to the story through the lens of how the characters experience the "moment by moment" details Lexi Blake lays out. Storytelling like that is hard, but it really makes the characters and the story come alive when it is done well - hence the Ryan West accolades.

What a “GREAT “ start to this series. I just love Lexie Blake’s books, no matter who she is writing as. I can’t wait to start the next book in this series - I just know it’s going to be great.

I enjoyed Jack, Abby, and Sam's story. It was sweet, romantic, sexy, witty, and humorous. The way the town treated Abby was awful. Very few of the people had any kind of moral strength to allow a kid to be treated that way. I liked all 3 of their characters, and loved the way Abby stood up for herself. Jack and Sam provided the support she needed to help her stand tall during her return to town.

Ryan West's part of the narration was great. C. J. Bloom did a great job narrating Abby, and was not bad reading Jack's parts. I have no idea what was going on with Sam's narration. Every time she read as Sam, all I could think of is some skinny, weaselly, weak willed, silly guy. Absolutely nothing indicated strong, attractive, or sexy about Sam during those moments. Hearing Sam's part actually took me completely out of the narrative.

I liked the part of this small town tale where the people were welcoming and supportive of Abby. I loved the fact that Jack and Sam could put the nasty people in their places. I wish they had done something with that deputy, and I also don't remember if anything happened to that mean, bitter, old woman after Abby went above and beyond.

Sam's Female Narration Was a No for Me

This was my second time reading about this poly-couple and my first time reading this new edition. This was the first book in the "Texas Siren" series. Abigail "Abby" Moore was run out of the small town of Willow Fork, TX 20 years ago with a bun in her oven. When her mother falls and breaks her hip Abby comes back to Willow Fork to care for her. While at her best friends house Christa she meets a hot sexy cowboy Sam Fleetwood. Jack Barnes and Sam Fleetwood have been friends for years they met in foster care years ago and they became best friends. They bought a ranch outside of Willow Fork and became rich when they discovered that the ranch is sitting on some kind of natural resource. When Jack meets Abby he wants her also but he didn't think she could handle the two of them until they find out what type of books that she likes turns out she likes reading about BDSM and threesomes then all bets are off. They begin dating her Abby thinks that they are gay. I wanted more M/M in this book although it was still hot. The town is rude and nasty to Abby all because they think she is a whore the mother of her late boyfriend who got her pregnant I wanted to slap that old lady she was crazy she blamed Abby for her son dying in a car accident that he was killed in while driving drunk. It was also crazy that an old lady turned a whole town against her and I was so glad when Jack stood up to the steakhouse owner. I also liked that Abby decided to take a stand and the thing in the store was funny. When Ruby Echols threatened to ruin Jack's business she tries to leave the guys but Jack wasn't having it he knew something was wrong. This was a good read and the narrator was also good. I am looking forward to reading and listening to the next book in this series.

The strength of all three main characters made the book worth reading. Really love this author's take on menage' and the HEA results.

Abby was from WIllow Fork and railroaded out of town. Twenty years later she returns to care for her mother.
Sam is immediately smitten. Jack takes a few minutes more. The old lady queen bee is furious that Abby returned and will stop at nothing to railroad Abby out of town.
