I loved the book when I first read it but hearing the characters cone to life and listen the the story is like I am reading for the first time all over again!!!!
Great job to Jordan and both of the narratorators.

I love this even more on audio!

You have not truly experienced Saint Laurier until you've heard him in Gideon Frost's wickedly growly voice. Absolute perfection in the audiobook narration by Gideon and Kasi Hollowell and the duet style is an added plus. Kasi captured Willow's personality flawlessly, her innocence, her strengths and weaknesses, the way she responded to Saint. And Gideon, just second to none! HE IS SAINT!! I devoured every minute of it!!

I am still beyond words for this book!! One of my top reads of last year, it was deliciously dark and dirty, and I was completely mesmerized and captivated throughout. Atmospheric and chilling, Brutal Savage God, first in the Godless Heathens series, explored the depths of depravity at Chryseum Reformatory Academy, a place for the unloved and forgotten where rules were broken and wickedness and evil lived.

Saint, one of the worshipped lords of the academy, was a narcissistic psychopath, unapologetic for his actions, completely accepting of who he was. Dark and deviant and devastatingly gorgeous, he was a true villain, not an anti-hero, not a bully, with no hope for redemption. I couldn't get enough of Saint, his obsessions and compulsions, and I was fascinated by everything he thought and did. Death and life intertwined together in his world and there was so much more to his psyche under the surface.

Saint found his match in Willow and I loved how strong and feisty she was, how she constantly fought back. I was drawn to how he pushed her, helping her find her way out of the darkness of her nightmares, making her feel calm and safe. She challenged him just as much, breaking the boredom and monotony, getting under his skin and awakening something inside him. I loved his protectiveness and how possessive he was as he claimed Willow and pulled her into his world. Both broken by their pasts, they gave each other exactly what they needed, their connection so powerful and intense, and I couldn't look away. There was so much raw emotion and exposed vulnerability as they opened to each other fully, body and mind, straight through to their souls.

"It matters because I don't want that mask you wear for the rest of the world. I want you, Willow, all of you, no lies, no hidden truths. I want every ugly part. My ego won't allow me to accept anything less."

What happens when the good girl falls for the villain? Can a psychopath feel love?

I loved the way Saint expressed his love for Willow in his own way, the only way he knew how, caring for her, protecting her, the little thoughtful things he would do. It was so beautiful how he showed his vulnerability only to Willow, completely letting her in to learn his deepest, darkest secrets, the things that he kept hidden from the rest of the world.

I will never stop recommending this book!! It's the one that started my obsession with dark romance. Mind the trigger warnings, listen to the audiobook, read the Kindle or print version. Do all the things and indulge in Saint's twisted darkness. You can thank me later.

I loved this book in its original form and the narrators just made it better. They brought it to life and it felt even more real. They were a perfect fit for Saint and Willow.

Intense

I enjoyed this book, it’s dark and there’s a twisted romance. Willow’s accent took a little getting use to but I really got into her and the story. Saint is insane but does that mean he’s irredeemable? There were some surprises in the story for sure, you’ll think to yourself ‘ he won’t do that’ but then he does it !!! It’s a good listen I will look for more from this author for sure

The narrators really brought this to life!

This is such a good asylum romance, I absolutely loved the story and Saint. I loved it when I first read it, and even more now that I've heard it. Willow got the shock of her life when her father committed her, and as the story continued on and his true colors showed. One of the kings of the academy took an interest in her as soon as he knew she was coming, and I love how their story unfolds. I can't wait for the next one to be out!

Omg can I just say the narrators for this book are absolute perfection! I loved Gideon so much! If you need a good growly bully romance this is the one for you! This was a really good dark read. I really enjoyed watching willow open up little by little to Saint and vise versa with Saint. He is definitely dark and twisted but you do find out why he is the way he is towards the end of the book! I cannot wait to dive into book 2!

Good Start 2 What Looks Like An Interesting Series

A HS Bully romance at an insane asyl...*ahem* reform school. Except there is no actual attempts to reform the patients...er students. Just a place to keep the unwanted and damaged away from the rest of society. Poor Willow, she didn't really belong at Chryseum Academy....kind of like a person who got arrested for writing bad checks mixed in with rapists and murderers. I found this story interesting, did not want to stop listening because this was performed excellently in duet style with one of my favorite male performers - Gideon Frost. Kasi Hollowell performed a great southern accent as well. There was some 🌶, not a whole lot...no real cheating (it is my only personal trigger) but Saint does however "punish" Willow by forcing her to watch him have sex with another woman - but it was before she and he were truly together and she accepted being his "pet" so this might not bother some. Other than that, there was a good introduction to other characters so I think I will continue on with the series.

4.5 starz - worthy of a repeat listen
