Wes Dannreuther grew up camping on the barrier islands and later became a sea kayaker just to experience them in a different way. Despite leaving Mississippi many years ago, the Coast and the islands never quite left him and he returns to them as often as possible. His writing has appeared in multiple publications including Louisiana in Words and Mississippi Magazine. Wes owns and operates Intracoastal Outfitters on Pensacola Beach and lives in the area with his wife and three sons.
