Patricia Lucia is a high school English teacher, entrepreneur and podcast host who lives in South Florida. She hales from Springfield, Massachusetts and lived in New York City for fifteen years, where she earned a Master's degree in Creative Writing at City College of New York. Lucia grew up in a large Italian family. Her love for cooking comes from her mother and from her grandparents who had managed to get a full size pizza oven into their basement. In 2007, Lucia stepped away from her teaching job to open a tiny cafe in Lake Worth, Florida. Her menu began with a handful of comfort foods and expanded to include up to 20 original veggie burgers, soups and sauces. She created a product line of sauces that she distributed to local farmers markets and grocery stores. In 2018, after her cafe closed, Lucia returned to teaching and writing. In 2020, she published the first is a series of three books. Wildflowers and Present Tenses, a memoir highlighting stories of courage, heartbreak and coming out was well received. Her second in the series, Wildflowers and Wooden Spoons, a cookbook featuring stories and recipes from her cafe was just released in November 2021. The third and final book in the Wildflowers series, Wildflowers and Laughing Crones, which features lighthearted and humorous stories about aging will be released in November of 2022. Lucia also hosts a podcast, "Story Bridge with Patti Lucia". Her books and videos are available at pattiluciawrites.com.
