It started with a parking ticket, a soggy bag of fries, and a whole lot of frustration. Back when I was doing my Master’s in Applied Computer Science at Dalhousie, I juggled classes with food delivery gigs for Uber Eats and DoorDash. One night, after circling the block for fiteen minutes and getting yelled at by a building security guard, I finally made it to the customer—only to find a handwritten note on my windshield: “NO PARKING. AND A FINE IS IMPOSED.” That moment hit hard. Was it just me, or was every delivery driver fighting the same losing battle? I needed to know. So, I skipped Netflix that night and opened up Google Forms. I designed a quick survey and sent it to every fellow driver I knew. The responses poured in—stories of blocked entrances, double parking, missed tips, and more. That was the spark. I realized I didn’t just stumble onto a personal annoyance—I had uncovered a real-world problem. That night, I didn’t just validate an idea—I stumbled into the world of product thinking: identifying pain points, testing assumptions, and building solutions that actually solve something. Today, I’m a product manager at CoreLogic, building tools in the real estate tech space that millions of agents rely on every day. I’ve worked on features that help streamline listing creation, enable smarter marketing, and improve the user experience for real estate pros who live on their phones. My work focuses on practical, high-impact product thinking—the kind that cuts through noise and creates real value for users. So, why trust my books?
