Marcus Heidl is a geopolitical crime thriller author, best known for modern stories of suspense and characters that are both recognizable and nuanced. He often uses the structure of duality in time and place to tell the story. His debut, On The Fenceline, was released in June 2020 as a paperback and ebook. It is set in 1940s Ukraine during the Second World War, and Canada in 2005. It was released as an audiobook on Audible, in 2024. His second novel is soon to be released--Dr.R: Don't Let the West Sink--starring Orla Jensen, a retired Secret Service agent who is called back in order to stop China from taking over the world's largest shipping company--Danish owned A.P. Møller Mærsk. His "Subtle Life of Crime" series follows three characters who each lead as the protagonist of one story only to fade away into secondary roles in the following novel. We see the lives of three different lead characters overlapping, and enmeshing, beginning in 2005 and ending sometime in the 2030s. Marcus Heidl was born in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada. He received an undergraduate degree in Geography at the University of Victoria and a Master's Degree in City Planning from the University of Manitoba. He taught geography at Mount Royal University for 11 years. He has been continuously involved in small business ventures within the field of natural health and healing. He enjoys reading all manner of books, travelling, hiking, spending time with family and friends and has an unexplainable attraction to islands.
