Luke Schmaltz began writing poetry at the age of nine, graduated to songwriting soon after and has expanded into long form fiction with The Belcher. This superhero novel for adults satisfies the absurdist fiction craving experienced by those who love DC Comics super villains, Marvel Comics super heroes, postmodern literature and erotic fiction. Schmaltz also pursues freelance journalism through a number of outlets, his favorite being his role as a Staff Writer and 100 Proof Reader for Modern Drunkard Magazine. He also enjoys a storied career as a self-described “songer/singwriter” playing both as a solo act and with his punk rock band King Rat. Schmaltz has written, produced and recorded 12 albums to date, with more on the way. Schmaltz’s lifelong affinity for fantasy fiction guarantees forthcoming titles to add to his literary canon. He plans to write the sequel to The Belcher somewhere in the Rocky Mountain Region where he lives with his wife, Christal and their mutt, Bentley.
