Judy Allen Dodson is a librarian, archivist, and children’s book author. She is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and the recipient of their On-the-Verge Emerging Voices Award for her manuscript, Fast Friends. Judy has a passion for celebrating diverse children’s literature and teaching children about history. In her spare time, Judy, supports various community organizations by volunteering at the annual African American Cultural Celebration (AACC) event in Raleigh, NC as a board member and committee member with the Literature and Spoken Word section. Judy has also served on the American Library Association (ALA) Coretta Scott King (CSK) Archives Committee and is currently the co-ambassador with the Authors Guild. She holds a B.A. in Communications from Western Michigan University and the Masters of Library Science (M.L.S.) from North Carolina Central University.
