When asked where home is, JP Raley enjoys telling the story of being from everywhere. JP's dad was in the United States Army when it was time to enter the world, so moving every few years became the norm. Born in Alabama, living in Germany at different times, and calling Texas home base when the family was on break from moving, JP Raley has seen quite a bit of Europe as well as a little over half of the United States. Garland, Texas, was always the original marker for what would eventually be called home base, but Germany would seem like an essential part of JP Raley's life. After graduating from Giessen American High School in 1992, JP Raley would subsequently obtain a bachelor's degree and an MBA in later years as time went on. However, the years spent at different schools in Garland, Texas, would see JP Raley remembering classmates as a reminder of the simple times of being a child. While JP Raley briefly attended South Garland High School, where JP's parents graduated, it would ultimately be Giessen who would help define JP's dream of becoming a writer from the time of being a Griffin. As JP Raley would say with the personal quote created in 1992 during his senior year in high school: "Creativity is the spark of my life and words the life of my soul." Writing has always been a part of JP's life as long as he can write. Articles, stories, poetry, movie scripts, television show scripts, comic book story arcs, and ideas from books stored over the years have all been essential to who he is as an individual. JP believes that letting one's soul express itself creatively is just as important as it is to have the physical body eat, sleep, and breathe. History records past events that give us a look into their lives as we see them from our perspective. So, why not write our stories today so that others may have but a glimpse of our own experiences from the words we share?
