ABOUT THE AUTHOR Dr. Jonathan Paul Strecker Shimmers is Dr. Jonathan Strecker’s debut novel. Born in 1970, Jon grew up in the small town of Bellevue, OH, which continues to be a source of inspiration and appreciation. Jon was influenced by his large family of seven and his strong friendships, which have heavily influenced his style of writing, with copious amounts of dialogue. Living in Pennsylvania with his intelligent and beautiful wife, Stacey, his remarkable son, Josh, and two rambunctious dogs, Bucky and Lucy, he continues to gladly work full-time in the field of education. Even though his life is complete in every way, writing is a way for him to express his artistic side. In the summer of 2020, Jon, along with his son, Josh, embarked on a family project to write a book and make a short movie. The original short story turned into something more significant, hence the Book, Shimmers. Even though this book is mostly fiction, Jon’s unique background gives him experience with matters of life and death. Jon has survived both Stage-4 Cancer (Hodgkin’s Disease in 1990) and a significant cardiac event in 2017. Elements of Shimmers correlate directly to his past experiences and education.
