Britt Jewell first knew he wanted to be a writer at the age of thirteen. He had just finished reading The Shining by Stephen King and it changed his life. Among his first completed works was a short story about a man falling from a platform and plummeting toward a vat of molasses. The entire story took place in the man’s mind during the time it took him to fall. It was for an English composition class during his junior year in high school and he got an A- (The focus on grammar, spelling and punctuation would come later!). After a decade spent starting and stopping multiple book projects, Britt completed his first manuscript: Sloan’s Quest was published in 1996. Written in the first person, the book follows a Milwaukee based private detective as he attempts to solve a murder and prove that the woman accused is innocent. The sequel, Sloan’s Return was released in 2005. Since the release of his last book Britt has continued to write but made the decision not to attempt to publish a third book. In the last thirteen years he has completed four manuscripts, including two more Sloan books. With the growth of the self-publishing industry, as well as the e-book platform, Britt has decided to try again. So in July of 2018 he will release his third book. Angel of Man is a story about the Angel of Death, who returns to Earth on a special mission. Available through Amazon, Nook and iBooks, it will be followed by the re-release of Sloan’s Quest later in 2018. Britt lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with his wife, Laura and daughters Taylor and Sydney. In addition to writing he is an avid reader. Among his favorite writers are John Grisham, Jonathan Kellerman, George R.R. Martin and Stephen King, of course. Other interests include travel, Mustang convertibles and rooting for the greatest team in all of sports, the Green Bay Packers!
