I was born and raised just outside of Philadelphia in a city called Glen Mills. After graduating high school, I decided to enroll at Penn State University in 2002. I studied for two years at the Delco branch campus, and then moved to State College to attend classes at University Park in 2004. I graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management in 2006. I met my wife, Katie, while we were both attending Penn State and we’ve been married for over 13 years and never left the State College area. We currently reside in Pleasant Gap, PA, and we have 3 children (all boys) who are 12, 10, and 4 years old. During my college years at Penn State, I worked at Hoss’s Steak and Sea on North Atherton Street. After graduating, I spent several years as a chef or restaurant manager at various places including as Chef/Kitchen Manager of Mamie’s Café and Bakery, Store Manager at Quiznos, and Chef at Outback Steakhouse. After getting married and starting a family, I changed careers to be home on nights, weekends, and holidays so I could have a more balanced work/life schedule and be able to coach my children’s sports teams, attend their school events, be at family birthday parties, and participate in all those types of family activities. For the last 13 years, I’ve been doing Supply Chain Management with an 8:00am-5:00pm schedule Monday through Friday which is much more conducive to family life. I’ve lived in the State College area for the last 20 years and enjoy dining out and trying new restaurants, and I share many of those experiences through my Instagram page @psufoodscene
