Astar Crane is an independent author who has been writing a variety of literary material his entire life. Although he prefers to write fictional stories of valiant knights and epic quests, he actually got his start as a published author by having one of his children’s poems published in a collection of poetry by children, for children. That happened when he was in middle school, so it was a very long time ago, but he likes to think that very moment was what inspired him to explore being an author as a professional career, and to consider his poetry as a potential output for his creative writing. ​ He uses his love of nature and wonder about the cosmos and the unknown to inspire his writing, and is supported in his work by his loving wife and son. He also has two drooly, floppy, floopy hound dogs that always try to procure an ear scratch when their dog-dad is plugging away at his current work (they are fairly successful). He lives in the frozen tundra of the northern United States, where he spends the cold winters sipping coffee and writing.
