Anastacia Visneski, is an author, chaos coordinator, and educator. Her career started when she moved to Antarctica right after undergrad, then continued with 12 years as an officer in the U.S. Coast Guard, specializing in search and rescue missions and crisis management. When she wasn’t responding to crises, Ana was a pain in her command’s ass leading to her launching the official Coast Guard Blog (the first official blogger for the service, woo!), and launching the first USCG mobile app for the public. She even talked them into starting a social media program (that she then helped build.) She has also been the Head of Launch Operations and the Principal for Global Disaster Response for AWS, a VP of Marketing Operations for Oracle, and works with the boards of several charities. Basically, a lot of cat herding if the cats were drunk...and on fire. Ana has a Master of Communication in Digital Media and a Master of Communication in Communities and Networks from the University of Washington (she was the first student to obtain both) where she teaches as an adjunct instructor of Crisis Communications. She founded crisis management firm Merewif LLC in 2021, where she helps companies build crisis management plans, unf*cking their crises, and providing operations optimization guidance. Ana lives in the Seattle area with her husband Eric and their dogs. When she isn’t writing or consulting, she plays a lot of video and tabletop games or can be found hiking in the Olympic Mountains. She still enjoys being a pain in the ass.
