So many emotions

Wow, Sandra gave us a lot in this book. What happens when one love burns out? Olivia is an artist who married her professor 19 years ago. A year ago Carl had a stroke, and he's changed. They have separate rooms now and they are little more than roommates.
Olivia expresses herself with her art, and with the people she's meeting through her art. Teddy and Max are both surprises in her life. She really goes on a journey to learn who she is and if she can love again. Very emotional journey for her, love and loss, exploration. It's all there. Very enjoyable listen with the audiobook.

Hot!!

I wasn't expecting the book to be the way it was but it was a pleasant surprise. Really hot at times but at times felt rushed, overall I did enjoy the book very much. AVA and Tim are perfect together ❤

Wonderful Romance

I really enjoyed listening to this book. Olivia is an artist and has been married for 19 years. Her husband suffered a stroke and she nursed him to health. Then he asks for a divorce! As I listen to Olivia I’m happy she is divorcing him because she meets Max! Max is a successful realtor and falls in love with him. Max was complicated for me to get in to for reasons you have to listen to this book!
But I loved the characters, the narrative and how everything turned out for Olivia. I especially really love Ava Lucas ❤️ her voice is so talented!
I’m a sucker for a couple having a baby, I have not noticed that in Sandra A. Sigfusson books but I have Loved her books!

Excellent narration

First I love the narrators. They did an excellent job.

This story is odd. It’s very sexy but a few things I don’t care for. There is a Ross and Rachel situation. It’s cheating to me but maybe not to others. Also this author uses exact grammar and medical terminology. It’s just so clinical at times.
It is very hot tho 🔥

WOW!

What happens when your life is completely uprooted? Olivia married her professor 19 years ago. A comfortable partnership, these two loved each other. But after a stroke, their lives changed. No longer the man she married, the two are getting a divorce and her life is about to change. Now on her own, she needs to learn who she is, what she wants to do and who she can trust and love. This is a love story, not only for Olivia and Max, but for Olivia and her life. Sandra A Sigfusson captures the essence of this woman, as we learn and live through her as she expresses her feelings through her art. We experience her love, betrayal and passion(with some really hot scenes!) and understand her. I loved Olivia's transformation. It's a journey you don't want to miss.

Brought to life by Ava Lucas and Tim Paige, we are treated to an amazing narration. These two story tellers breathe life into the characters. Lucas delves into the depths of Olivia and gives her every feeling we can experience. Her voices carry nuances that give us all the feels. Paige shines as Max. He is character, though strong is emotional and Paige carries it out with every inflection of his voice. It's a fantastic performance by both.

I have mixed feelings

I have mixed feelings.

The main subject–a 40 something woman whose life changes and who learns who she is through love and art–was very interesting. It was also well written, more like a slice of life than a complicated plot, which I greatly enjoyed. That implies a wandering journey instead of a straight path, and seemingly unnecessary scenes that still creates an atmosphere.

But Olivia errs a lot. The other characters too. And that means some cringy moments, especially the various cheatings. I don’t mind them, but I didn’t like how they were dealt with.

I felt there were missed opportunities too. I’d have loved to see more of Carl to understand him. Teddy too was an interesting character–though she has plenty of time to show herself.

Narration was pretty fine. Both narrators are excellent with emotions, and though they don’t have a big range of voices for all the characters, the energy they give to each of them make it easy to differentiate them.
