About this listen

Founded over 400 years ago, Sanctus Infinitus Redemptio is a private and very elite society, where dominance and submission are revered. Steeped in tradition and excellence, every dominant, every submissive, and their pairing are selected with great care.

When Hunter Vargo is brought into the Sanctus, his need for strict dominance sees him paired with the wrong master. But only a short time later, mistreated and his trust broken, he’s recalled, his collar removed. The grand master knows it will take a special kind of dominant to restore the sub’s faith and trust.

Sig Bruckner’s world is perfect. He has a great job, he has high standing within the Sanctus, and he has Levin, the very best submissive. When he’s asked to take on a second sub, a young man with issues and a rule not to touch him, Sig’s world is turned upside down.

When his dominance, his patience, and self-control are tested, and when Sig’s relationships with both subs are pushed past his limits, everything begins to unravel. Yet, Sig knows every good dom learns from their subs, and he’s no exception. He might not be able to fix everything on his own, but, perhaps, the three of them together can.

Please note: This is a BDSM-lite MMM story.

Interesting, Informative and Sexy

I admit that I am normally not a fan of this type of D/s book - where the domination is 24/7 - but because I love Nick J Russo's performances and I've read several N.R. Walker books that I've enjoyed I decided to give "Sir" a try. I have no regrets, I found reading about the lifestyle interesting and thanks to Russo incredibly hot. I'm not sure I would read it again though...well maybe the naughty bits 😉...lol

1st time "reader" of N.R. Walker

This was the 1st time listening to N.R Walker. In the beginning I wasn't sure where this story was going. However as it progressed I was very pleased. N.R. development of these characters was very well written. You really feel for Hunter and I enjoyed watching his relationship develope with Sig and Levin. I would recommend this book to none who like poly BDSM.

It’s good

The story is well written, with great characters, and an easy to follow storyline. The relationship between the main characters develops beautifully, and even the side characters I find don’t lack in anything.
I just didn’t like the BDSM aspect in this book so much. I’m not a part of that community, so can’t vouch for the validity of those parts, but the connection and relationship development between the characters as written in this book are beautiful. It’s just not the kind of kink I enjoy reading. I decided to give this audiobook a try since I absolutely loved almost all the books by N.R. Walker, and liked the rest, and I can’t say I was disappointed by this one. Just to be clear: I don’t discount people who enjoy this kind of kink, either in real life or in books, it’s just not what I love reading about.
Nick Russo’s performance was, as always, great. I love his voice and how he makes characters come to life.

Great story, great performance

I read this book when it was released and as a huge fan of the author, I jumped at the chance to listen to the audiobook. I’ve included my original review of the book and just added my thoughts on the audio performance.

I feel like I have a love/hate relationship with Mr. Russo. He is a great audio performer. His characterizations in this book were SPOT.ON. He brought forth the emotions of this story beautifully. However, as I point out in EVERY review of his performances I listen to, he adds an ‘L’ to words that don’t have them and that is a HUGE pet peeve of mine. Draw becomes drawl, saw becomes sawl….DRIVES.ME.NUTS. and takes me out of the story EVERY.TIME. This is the ONLY thing preventing me from giving his performance 5 stars. If this doesn’t bother you as it does me, you’ll have no issues with this performance as he performs it perfectly.

Here is my review of the book as posted after reading the ebook…

Let me preface this review by saying that I’m a big fan of this author and that probably has an effect on my enjoyment of each of her books. I’ve read about half the books she’s written, and I’ve really liked or loved all but one of them.

I am not an expert in the BDSM lifestyle, so I have no idea whether or not everything that happens in this book could actually happen with Dominants and submissives. Please understand before starting this book, while there are elements of BDSM in the book that may be accurate, the author clearly in the forward this is a fantasy world.

“This is not a reflection of how real BDSM works. This is pure fiction/ erotic fantasy. The fictional Sanctus society abides by its own rules and laws, though safe, sane, and consensual still applies. All members of the Sanctus enter willingly. All relationships and all sex are consensual. All characters are over the age of consent. All characters enter into this fictional M/ s and D/ s world willingly. All parallels to organized religion are coincidental.”

If you are expecting to read a BDSM book, this is probably not for you. I typically don’t read fantasy books, but I did enjoy this story…you will have to set aside reality, fully immerse yourself into this world and accept their rules.

I will admit I was cautious when starting this book because what I love about this author’s books is the emotions between the characters, even when there is pain to be worked through. We have emotional pain here, but it takes a bit of time to get to the full emotions that I love. We get glimpses throughout, but because of imposed (albeit misguided and maybe misunderstood) restrictions we don’t have the full force of the three characters’ emotions until over half-way in the book.

Hunter’s past and part of his present are filled with emotional and physical pain and neglect. His story is tragic. While Sig and Levin give him a glimpse of their world, they go through some discovery and growth in their relationship ultimately strengthening their bond.

I should probably mention this book is truly erotica…they have A LOT of sex, which is not typical of books by this author, so again if you don’t like that you may want to skip this one.

The epilogue is exactly what we’ve come to expect from an NR Walker book.

As I mentioned above I enjoyed the story, but avid fans of this author may not and hardcore BDSM fans may not.

Exceptional

I feel the need to mention first that Nick J. Russo is one of my favorite narrators, but this was so different than anything I'd heard from him. It was exceptional. His Sig was perfection. Both subs were meek and flirty. This showed so much of Russo's talent, it was a pleasure to listen to.

This wasn't your typical filthy Dom/sub threesome kinky story. This was pure dedication, trust, aftercare, and most of all, love.

This was the D/s relationship that only NR Walker could write. It combined both sweet, endearing romance with the need for submission in a way that created a family instead of a contract. And the fact that there were 3 adults in the relationship only increased their bond. It was written in a way that shined a light onto the seemingly dark world of BDSM and made it warm and compassionate.

The relationship between Sig, Levin, and Hunter was real and honest and heartbreaking at times. It was so much more than I had hoped for and became a beautiful story.

If you're looking for dark, dirty D/s erotica, this isn't that kind of story. If you are looking for a romance with a twist and a bit more than you bargained for, this is everything an NR Walker book always provides with a perfect HEA. A perfectly wonderful listen.

Two of my favorite writer and narrator combo,

N. R. is an automatic buy for me. When l saw Nick Russo was doing the narration l stopped the book l was reading and went straight to listen to this. I was not disappointed. This is an absolute favorite of mine. I am not even a fan of the Master/Sub genre. It is just weird for me and sometimes scary. But there was no way l was missing this. I loved everything about the book, the couple the sexy times, and Nick's voice. His fake British accent and the tone for the Master was so damn sexy. I will definitely be listening to this again. Highly recommended!

A D/s Love story

I’m a huge fan of the BDSM genre so the title of this book alone peeked my interest. Then there is the author, N.r. Walker, of whom I’m also a big fan. This book however is very, very different from everything that I have ever read by her. I was pleasantly surprised because this story has full on 24/7 Dominant/ submissive relationships. Keeping in mind that this story is fictional, the characters are fictional, and the 400 year old Sanctus society is fictional, not to mention in the real world of BDSM there are No perfect Doms as such this may not be a true reflection of the lifestyle, Ms. Walker manages to craft a beautiful heartfelt story between not two but three people.

The story begins with a damaged submissive, Hunter, whose hard limits have been violated by his Master, Lazzaro. This is a serious breech of trust and worse violated one of the Santus laws of this secret society whose founding members have very strict principles about the Dominates responsibilities to their submissives. To rectify this gross misconduct the sub, is placed with another Dominant and his submissive, Sig and Levin, temporarily. Sig is considered the “perfect Dom”. He’s firm but fair, kind and gentle and very generous. Hunter needed time to heal...to rebuild some of the trust that he had lost because of Lazzaro. Sig Was told he would have Hunter for a week and at the end of that week Hunter was to decide if he wanted to stay with Sig and Levin. Sig was drawn to the boy and so was Levin. They wanted to help him and care for him and show him what their relationship was like.

What happened over the following week was wonderful and torturous at the same time. I did not expect this story to evolve into a ménage but it happened so organically and seemed the right thing for everyone involved. I loved Sig! He was dirty but sweet and amazing. I wanted to wrap my arms around Hunter and protect him from all the wrongs in the world. Levin was cheeky and a bit bratty but in a good way and became a key character in the book. Ms. Walker did an excellent job with this story. I could tell by how the character’s wiggled their way into my heart and I was completely smitten. To say Nick Russo did an excellent job narrating this book would be an understatement. His portrayal of the accents was fantastic. I gave this 4.5 stars
I was gifted a copy of this audio for a fair and honest review.
