About this listen

Sheriff Jonathan MacSweeny is in charge of keeping the peace in Prospect Springs. Frontier living isn't what it used to be. It's hard to survive in the New Old West and it's even harder when your area doesn't exactly embrace supernaturals - and you howl at the moon. That being said, he's good at his job and has a reputation with the ladies. When he learns his childhood sweetheart is to be married off to the town sleazebag, he goes in guns blazing to see to it she's his. Problem is, Molly isn't the same girl he remembers from 10 years prior. Now she's a gun-toting, foul-mouthed, vixen with a badge of her own.

Special Marshal Molly Cogan never planned to set foot back in Prospect Springs. When her friend gets the harebrained idea to steal her identity in an attempt to protect her from the bounty the outlaws have on her head, Molly finds herself standing right smack dab in the middle of chaos - or home in her case. It isn't long before Jonathan is there, flashing that famous MacSweeny boy smile and tempting her in ways she wasn't prepared for. This heart-hardened Marshal has her work cut out for her if she plans to face her past fears and her past sweetheart.

Warning: This novella contains strong language and shape shifting cowboys of the future who will melt your socks off. This novella also has explicit, graphic sexual content and is not for the faint of heart.

Series former title: Cowboys & Supernaturals.

Futuristic western romance

Molly and Johnathan haven't seen each other in 10 years after he helped her pick up the pieces from being raped.

She is now back in town betrothed to the very man who had raped her but she has no intention of being his bride.

She is hunting outlaws as a special marshall.

See how it all works out for them in the end.

Blaze of Glory

Would you listen to Blaze of Glory again? Why?

Yes, I loved hearing Mason Lloyd narrate this story. It is a quick listen and makes you wish you were part of the story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Blaze of Glory?

One of the most memorable moments was the stand off at the end between Molly, Jonathan, Cole and Gerald. I loved seeing Molly put Gerald, her childhood attacker in his place.

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene was the fighting scene. Where Molly comes in and surprises everyone by being Magical Marshall Molly.

Any additional comments?

This story is a quick but excellent story. This is the first time I have heard Mason Lloyd with a western accent and it did take me a moment to get use to it but it didn't hinder the story in any way. Mandy delivers another amazing book that makes you wish all you had to do every day was listen or read her stories.

Crass and lightning fast

This is rapid fire, even for a novella. It pinballs among ideas like steampunk horses and a post-apocalypse Wild West. The plot is on the paranormal hillbilly end. There’s a lot of trashy dirty talk and cussing.
Oh, and shifter sex. High art this is not.
But, I was in the mood for something sassy, and this little nugget fit the bill.

Great start to promising series!

If you could sum up Blaze of Glory in three words, what would they be?

humorous
kick but
action

What other book might you compare Blaze of Glory to and why?

kind of stands alone

Have you listened to any of Mason Lloyd’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

many and as always he is AWESOME!!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I liked the ending with the kids even if it seemed a bit out of character for Molly to become a stay at home mom.

Any additional comments?

Mandy never disappoints! Cowboy shifter hotties and a witch with attitude in a future that combines Star Trek with Bonanza adds up to one very enjoyable read. I liked the characters right away, they were really brought to life which I find very common in Mandy's books. The only two things that gave me pause were some of the dialog was a bit corny and the ending seemed a little out of line with Molly's character but still a great read that I plan on reading again.

Mason Lloyd is the best narrator I’ve ever heard, I love his voice!

Yummy little read

This book is a tasty little bit of fun. Great snappy dialogue and many parts that will make you giggle.

Molly is a totally awesome chick who kicks serious butt. I loved her sass and all that attitude. She starts of strong but ends with a bit of a whimper. I am not saying she made the wrong decision, I am all about the HEA, but she lost some of that spunky sparkled I loved in the beginning. The banter with Jonathan and his brothers is great. He is super yummy, if a bit stuck on sex.

I would love to see this story expanded, more of her friends and the transformation. There was so much left unsaid about her job and the journey she underwent. I also really wanted the bad guy to get what was coming to him. I felt like Molly would have done something to him, it would have been justified. Her back story could have used more detail as well.

The story is a mixed narrative, you get both Molly and Jonathan in the POV. It really helps you understand them and the relationship.

There is of course yummy smexy scenes!! I could have used a bit more her too. Don't get me wrong, it is delicious, just wanted more.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Mason Lloyd, who is yummy. I really loved his tone and that he didn't try to get to high with the women's voices. He hits all the right notes. His energy is fantastic and really fits the action scenes. I will definitely be looking for more of his reads.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and hope to see more of the series. I need to know about Parker, Lynette, Eli and Cole. There are many delicious possibilities!
