About this listen

It's Valentine's at the Spread Eagle leather club, but the only sub Jack's even spoken to belongs to his best friend, Marcus - and all Bret did was con him into taking a stupid bet. It is not going to be a good Valentine's night.

The moment Jack sees Ricky walking naked through the bar, he wants him. When Ricky kneels at his feet and offers him the keys to his restraints, it's obvious that his interest is returned. It might just be the best Valentine's Jack's ever had.... Ricky is sweet and eager to please and obviously new to leather. He's the kind of guy who actually makes Jack wonder if "something at first sight" might really be possible. But when it suddenly becomes apparent that everything is not what it seems, the only thing Jack knows for sure is that this Valentine's night is going to get very, very complicated.

Loved every moment of it

This was a really great book the only thing I would change about it is that even tho it has a great ending i wish it would of been longer or have a second part to it to tell more of their story but all in all it was great and I like the narrator his voice was really nice to listen to

Not Easy to Follow

Not easy to follow but decent enough. Narration is just ok. I won't listen a second time.

Short, sexy,sweet

I knew it was short going in but am sad now because I would like to continue knowing their story. My subject title says it all. Jack is sexy and sweet. I found it hard to know Ricky since he said very little but I enjoyed the dynamic between them.

Yummy!

What a spankingly lovely Valentine’s Day tale. A case of mistaken identity lands a newbie sub into the hands of the wrong (but really right) Dom at a club. Ricky is adoringly naive and submissive, but unfortunately he’s got the wrong ideas about what a Dom expects of him. Jack didn’t know he was looking for a sub until a stark naked Ricky kneels before him at the club.

There’s more, but that would involve a spoiler and I don’t do spoilers.

Many BDSM books often lapse into textbook mode in explaining the lifestyle. While this one did explain the lifestyle, it did it in such a way that I didn’t feel I was being lectured at. Another book that also did that well was Axel’s Pup by Kim Dare.

Although a second book in a two book series, I didn’t feel like I missed out on anything by not reading the first—which I’ll rectify soon enough!

This was short, and sweet, and pointed some dangers in BDSM in an extremely efficient and satisfying way. I listened to this and adored Joe Arden’s delectable English accent.

It was a sweet short

This was a sweet short, and I will admit I was about to scream at what the author had listed as what a sub was supposed to do, but knew there had to be a reason, which there was. Wish there was more but realize this was just a short story.

Base Over Apex

I loved the beginning and I love Joe Arden's performance. Once the expected happens I lost some of my interest in this book. Still, this is a short sweet read.

Short and so well done

I loved the short story that brings up some real problems with coming into a new lifestyle. Amazing narration, good story to listen to when you need a little spice and cautionary tale with a bit of strength.

The sweetest, "Yes, sir."

3.85 story & overall
As the story started, I doubted that I was going to end up liking this tale. I didn't think I was going to hate it, but I hoped for it being bearable, at best. Surprisingly, I enjoyed this short BDSM-focused story, though I don't always get into BDSM. But this is BDSM where the dom has a heart, an interest or willingness of falling in love. And he truly exemplifies the care part of the dom-sub relationship. Enjoyably different BDSM M/M story where the focus is not on sex. There were 2 scenes of "play," with only one being the "full" act. The narrator did a perfect job.
