About this listen

2009 EPPIE AWARD WINNER !!!

Professor Conner Devlin finds himself hopelessly in love with his young submissive. Told with intense honesty from the dominant's point of view, A Good Student gives a rare look inside a man's heart. A man caught in the throes of a compelling passion. Listening to Conner's confession is like having your own personal Master tell you everything he feels, with a poet's skill and a therapist's insight.

Many Elliot Mabeuse fans voiced disappointment that the first Good Student audiobook was abridged. We listened. Your pleas were heard. Here is the rest of it, Part II. Fourteen more chapters, eight listening hours. The second half is the true love story between Emma and her professor.

Burning to be free, and needing to be captured

A Good Student Part II is a continuation of Professor Conner Devlin's training sessions of his ultimate "living sex doll", Emma. This isn't a common BDSM book. Elliot Mabeuse withholds nothing! This book is a honest, arousing, raw, gritty, refreshing love story!
Conner, a mature man in his 40's planned to completely dominate Emma, a youthful 20 something. He planned to be her living dildo, and to be the most dominate, and memorable lover she has ever or will ever have. He finds Emma is a willing student, she totally opens up to him, and gives him everything he asks of her. Conner finds that Emma is THE ultimate submissive, eager to learn everything he needs to teach her. She is the best he has ever had. Conner's mind is blown! His plan to love her, and leave her, is thwarted, and he realizes that he never wants to let her go.
The pivotal moment occurs when he realizes - "In my arms was the girl who was killing me, with my own love".
Emma's introspective commentary on her own personal experience with Conner awards us an insightful look into her complete surrender. We travel her journey with her, we see her figuring out who she is, emotionally, and sexually.
We watch them both burn to be free, and see their need to be captured by each other, both emotionally, and sexually. We see them find that "living is in loving".
Mabeuse's use of the dual points of view makes this an awesome story. The male, female narration of Peter Klein, and Mira Noire makes this one of the best erotically beautiful love stories ever recorded.
I highly recommend it.

Hot, Sexy and Sooooo Romantic!!!

What made the experience of listening to A Good Student Part II the most enjoyable?

Everyone's writing BDSM books these days, but NO ONE knows what goes on inside the hearts and minds of a dom and his sub like Mr. Mabeuse!! All the passion, the desire, the fear and pain and love of dominance and submission are acted out in a love story that will both melt your heart and open the eyes of both the experienced BDSMer and the merely curious. Peter Klein is totally believable as Professor Conner Devlin, whose D/s affair with student Emma Fiore escalates into a burning love affair that crosses all boundaries! Mira Noire's Emma is both innocent and passionate as she succumbs to the forbidden desires and pleasures Conner reveals to her.

Whether you're an experiences dom or sub or just curious about the lifestyle, you have got to hear this book!

What did you like best about this story?

I loved reading about the characters' thoughts and feelings as their relationship progresses. So much BDSM is just like cruelty and sadism by cardboard characters, but these are like real people who love and feel and share their most intimate moments. Someone once said that the brain is the sexiest part of the body, and this book proves it!

Which scene was your favorite?

There's a lot but I love spanking *blush!* and there's a scene where Conner gives Emma good seat-heating in an empty lecture hall at the college that's just so real and beautifully done that it made me squirm. ANd when Conner tells us what it feels like to him to take her over his knee...! Just Yum!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No doubt it was Conner's confession of love to Emma that really got me. He'd tried everything to get through to her, but in the end it was his simple and tearful confession that made me break down too. How I envy her!

Any additional comments?

Prepare to lose yourself in their world. At 8 hours the book is plenty long, but it's never dull, and there's plenty here to keep you walking around in a daze for weeks! Bravo!

Lots of action

This book takes off quick and just keeps going. You get to hear the characters become more and more connected even though they have committed not to have feelings for each other. A perfect follow up to the first book. The narrators are so into character, I could "see" the action and "feel" the heat.

Raw and Emotion with Amazing Realism

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes Very Much so.

What other book might you compare A Good Student Part II to and why?

Well of course Good Student Part I but also the Saving Anna Series by Sherry Hayes

Have you listened to any of Peter Klein and Mira Noire ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes Good Student I. But this book could easily stand alone. This is the continuation of that story and builds on the raw emotion and magnetic attraction that these 2 unlikely characters have for each other. Mira Noire was amazing. She not only nailed Emma she WAS Emma. I feel like I have known this character all my life after listening to her performance.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes With any Elliott Mabeuse book you expect raw passion and great depth of detail. His ability to paint a scene and hold your interest is poetic. The idea of telling the story from both the man and the woman's point of view is facinating and grips your senses.

Any additional comments?

I was amazed by the reality of the feelings each character has. I could be totally convinced that this was a true story. It was so amazing to hear what each character felt and thought about each scene just after it had unfolded. This book could easily be a text book on how to and how not to build a relationship. I would buy part III in a hearbeat if it were written.

Great book! Must Read!!

Would you consider the audio edition of A Good Student Part II to be better than the print version?

Very much so! It was awesome to hear both the teacher and the student in this second book!

What other book might you compare A Good Student Part II to and why?

A Good Student Part I of course but II has almost a Shades of Grey feel to it.

What does Peter Klein and Mira Noire bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

They both have wonderful voices and I completely enjoyed listening to them tell me this story

Any additional comments?

I'm still reeling from it. I am so glad the writer did it, not only from Connor's viewpoint but also from Emma's. It's so profound and wonderful to hear her point of view and her struggle to find herself. I don't know if I can really put into words the effect this second book had on me. It was so freeing. It wasn't like the first book in my mind because in the first book I found myself trying to fit myself into Emma's heart and mind and be like her; but the second book made me understand that it's about understanding the need to be true to your heart and to your desires. What a gem. What a treasure this second book was!!!

A visceral, eloquent take on a powerful D/s affair

Would you consider the audio edition of A Good Student Part II to be better than the print version?

This is tricky; once you "create" a written story it becomes something entirely different that's beautiful in its own way. I like both; but I'll always prefer an original written story, because you can fantasize it and interpret however you like. In audio or video format, you don't have a choice ...

Who was your favorite character and why?

Conner! He's super intense and as a female hetero listener who has delusions of being submissive ... I found the intensity of his desire, his craftiness, his brutal honesty, his firm hand when handling Emma, just skirting the edge of losing his control into "too far" but never quite going there -- really exquisite, arousing, hot!

Which character – as performed by Peter Klein and Mira Noire – was your favorite?

Mira Noire! She played being a submissive well -- thoughtfully, earnestly.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No! I wanted to milk it; each chapter is really intense, and there are subchapters in between with Emma's personal take on each experience, so it's a lot to digest (in a good way!).

Any additional comments?

A really intense story with lots of creative, erotic, passionate scenes. Some have gritty modern realism, some have the fantasy of two lovers locked away with each other and the rest of the world just not existing. But it was powerful, arousing, and fun to go off into this world with these characters. Definitely worth the purchase!

A Deep and Disturbing Wish

Where does A Good Student Part II rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I loved Plunder which was written by Peter Klein, but I have to say, I like this better.

What did you like best about this story?

It's dirty talk on Steroids. Actually it's literature.

What does Peter Klein and Mira Noire bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

They bring it alive. Their dialog is exquisite.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It's eight hours. Too much for one sitting.

Any additional comments?

Here is a man, a poetry professor, Conner Devlin, teaching a night class in a suburban community college. Among his students is a beautiful young woman, Emma Fiore, mid twenties. Emma has a deep and disturbing wish to be dominated. From her comments and discussions after class, Conner somehow figures this out. He, in fact, has a long prior history of dominating women. It's in his blood. Even so the prospect with a young student is dangerous. Could be disastrous. But his instincts are good. One night, after class, he takes a risk. Makes her hold up her skirt for him. Makes her beg him to touch her. It goes on and on. Night after night the tension builds. Her shame at being forced to admit what she wants.

He kidnaps her and takes her to a motel and ties her up and flogs her. Elliot Mabeuse knows how to tell a story. These scenes are among the most passionate I've ever read. In a subsequent adventure Conner takes Emma to his place in the city. He cultivates her impulses, bringing her to understand that there is something fine and wonderful about her acting like a whore for him, like a little tramp. Conner falls for her in a big way. The poison is in the wound. He becomes addicted to her. The punishments become more and more dangerous. At the end of each chapter Emma tells us about the pain she endures and why. In her own voice she tells us about the humiliation and the intense pleasure it brings her.

Well, I've said enough. You have to read it for yourself. Well, I say read it -- I mean listen to it. This is an audio drama. There are two characters played by Peter Klein and Mira Noire. Both voices can be found elsewhere on Audible.
