Publisher's summary

The resolution of Weston's story in the Wall Street Journal Bestselling Deliciously Dark Fairytales world.

He wasn't supposed to fall in love.

Weston has made a mess of things. Since he realized the woman he was supposed to find and bring to justice was his true mate, things have spiraled out of control. He's gone from one bad decision to the next, and now the situation threatens to topple down around him.

The good news is, Aurelia isn't responsible for hurting people. She isn't the one who should stand in front of the dragons and plead for her life.

If only the dragons and their kingdom agreed.

Weston must try to relay the truth and protect his true mate, all while she struggles to work through her past, his deceit, and her new life in opposition to the one woman she'd thought of as her mother.

Aurelia must go to war, and Weston will do everything he can to ensure she comes out alive.

This is the conclusion to the duet and ends in an HEA. All loose ends are tied up.

These characters are the most amazing ever!

These characters are the most amazing ever! I know I say that with each new series and each new book but these ones have touched my heart so deeply! They are all so broken and have been through hell and yet they still have the capacity to love with their entire heart and face all of the terrors that await them with fierce determination!

Weston and Aurelia are two very strong, opiniated alphas learning to work together and as a pack and part of a Kingdom all while trying to ferret out Granny and her merry band of drug pushers. They have such a messy but perfect love!
Aurelia also needs to make peace with her past and find a way to convince the new kingdom, that she has been dragged off to, to forgive her for her misdeeds. She has a new family who she has chosen, loves and adores and now she is fighting with her wits to ensure she gets to keep them!

Hadriel is just as funny, twisted and full of strange advice that seems to always be dead on! I adore all the little commonalities that Aurelia has with Finley. I really enjoyed getting to see another side of Nyfain now that he is mated and a father! And last but not at all least, Vemar! Hadriels twin in arms so to speak! He is a fierce protector and additional comic relief! An iron bull with a heart of gold!

It was a thrilling read that proves that we all have a little villain in us but we can still get a dark and twisted fairy tale ending!

🌻Not as good as the original series🌻

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

Although I really did enjoy this spinoff duet, it was not as intense or exciting as the original tale about the Dragon King and his mate. It did have the humor, quirky characters and numerous magical creatures but, the storyline was just not as intense or as emotionally provoking.

The eventual confrontation with Granny was pretty short and kinda anticlimactic. In addition, it felt like the story had a drawn out build up leading to the confrontation, but abruptly ended after the main conflict resolution.

Don’t get me wrong, even an average story written by this author is worthy of reading and /or listening to, it was just not as all encompassing as some of her other adventures.

In addition, the audio version could be made so much better with true
Duet narration. I hope the “powers to be” consider this change in their future productions.
