What happens in vegas doesn't stay in vegas.

This book had me from first chapter.
This is a cute funny romance story of a virgin girl whos wanting to be educated in the arts of love. She decide to rent an escort / gigalo service to teach her the arts of pleasuring. what they didn't count on was the mind blowing chemistry between them.
The sex scenes were hot and tantalizing.
the narrator was excellent I would recommend this book to anybody. it was that enjoyable.

I hope they are more series to COME . I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the narrator in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom

Virgin, Vegas and a Gigolo

Would you listen to 1/2 Cocked again? Why?

Not certain if I would as I have a large number of books in my library. I would consider listening if I was in a mood for lots of sex.

With all of the sex in this book I did not want to listen to it when other people were around as I listen to books on a speaker instead of headphones.

The dual narrators did a fantastic job. The author and narrators have talent. The story was a cute fantasy (How many 21 virgins have $10,000 and are willing to pay a gigolo to loose their virginity and learn everything about sex). I'll just get this out of the way first; I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the publisher. I was expecting a sexy audiobook and see Misty's review, she said:
This book is totally just for fun and not intended to be a deep read. It's insta-love and mega, ultra hot. I totally loved it and it was the perfect length for the type of book it was. Very much credit worthy!!

And that was the truth. It was over the top at times but - I totally didn't expect the sweet, happily-ever-after, insta-luv to go kinda serious there, and there was a scene where my jaw dropped and I was like, "Whoaaaa..."

Color me surprised, and it added a really nice layer to this story. It was fun, it was fast, it was a great easy listen with substance to it too. I laughed when the hero had inappropriate thoughts about keeping the heroine as his captive if she tried to leave - it should have made him sound like a creeper, but they were delivered funny, and it showed how much the hero LIKED the heroine. It was a cute touch.

A virgin, a gigalo and Vegas.

I was so, so surprised by this awesome audio. I'm starting with narrators. If you haven't experienced Veronica Pace yet, you're in for a treat. She is so perfect for all these New Adult Erotic roles. She sucks me into every book she narrates and holds me there. She is quickly becoming a fav! Marcio Catalano is not a new narrator for me and although it took me a bit to adjust to his narration, now that I have listened to a few of his books, I very much look forward to his narration.

Ok, now the story. What does a virgin do when she is tired of being turned down by her college peers because they don't want to deflower her? She goes to Vegas to hire a professional.

This book is totally just for fun and not intended to be a deep read. It's insta-love and mega, ultra hot. I totally loved it and it was the perfect length for the type of book it was. Very much credit worthy!!

Hot and sexy

I got this book via audiobook boom. This story begins with a college girl who wanted to lose her virginity. But her peers rejected her because she was a virgin. So off to vegas she goes and hires a gigolo.Well of all things Colton the gigolo falls in love and as the story ends they both end up with what is best a HEA,

Turn up the AC because my ears are on FIRE!!!!

Holy hotness Colton is a woman's wet dream!
This is one sexy listen!
This book is packed full of steamy, hot, passionate scenes with a unique storyline to boot.
My only complaint was the pace of the book was to fast.
I would have liked it more if this was a 6 to 8 hour listen instead of 4.
But the fact that Colton got Becca out of her shell and made her see that (sexy doesn't just come in a small size packages)
was quite refreshing and more than made up for the short storyline.
Women of all shapes and sizes are beautiful.. and it's awesome when an author brings that fact to life.
Both narrator's were an excellent fit for this book.
Veronica Pace has such a sweet voice.
She really captured the timid shy character of Becca.
And Marcio Catalano's sexy seductive voice definitely brings Colton's (sex on a stick) image to the imagination.
This is my first Michelle Hughes book and I loved it!
This author will be on my radar from now on.
I was given this book as a gift for my honest unbiased review but, honestly I would have bought it anyway.
So is it worth a credit? ohh yea!

5 star story until end ruined it for me

I was loving this book all along, having the most fun, and happy to have found a new to me author when suddenly...no! Wait! Did I hear what I thought I heard? Why oh why did this talented author have to kill this book so thoroughly? Mental whiplash - as if the author suddenly left it to a precocious 12 year old to write the ending. Because the first 3/4 of this was AWESOME. I was so ready to give this book a 5 star that I found excuses to keep listening. Until...oh heck no! What the heroine just did is not acceptable for any woman not facing an immediate threat of death and choosing survival at all costs.

My listening came to a screeching halt. For days I couldn't listen any farther. Because some acts are simply NOT OKAY. Not even in adult romances. But I was gifted this book, so I thought, it's way too close to the end, and while there could not POSSIBLY be enough time for all the therapy our heroine obviously needs, the author must have had a point to make to suddenly go from fun adult fantasy to what the heck just happened. So I turned the recording back on. And now we have both the hero and the heroine acting like what the heroine did was somehow OK as long as a particular body part wasn't involved. Which was so stunningly out of character for what the author had so carefully crafted that my head hurt.

**MAJOR Spoiler alert**
Prostituting yourself against your will to get charges dropped against your boyfriend IS NOT ALL RIGHT. Worst of all after he's just proposed to you! And the "hero's" reaction to her activity was also NOT ALL RIGHT. This went from a 5 star adult fantasy to something in need of so much therapy for the characters that I wanted to throw my phone across the room. Only I was driving and could only mash the Off button on my steering wheel into oblivion.

This was not conflict. This was self-destruct. No healthy adult woman wants to read or listen about a character even thinking about submitting to rape. Which is what it is when a man comes in wielding power instead of sexual attraction and forces a woman to perform an act on him she doesn't want to perform. Especially if he's able to force her to do it by use of his superior power whether that is money, legal acts, or sheer muscle. If you're going to suddenly toss that kind of darkness in at the last minute, you need to market your books differently so readers/listeners who expect activities between consenting adults don't find themselves running headlong into offensive forced activity.

Worse yet, the heroine's daddy shows up and is all fine with a gigolo hero doing his daughter? The ick factor went off the charts for me and I stopped listening for the final time. Especially when daddy is supposedly a lifer in the USAF? Um...no.

I beg this author to (a) spend the money on a developmental editor, because you were awesome right up until the story line flew straight off the tracks and none of your characters behaved according to anything you built so well in the rest of the book and (b) strongly consider marketing and labelling your work differently if you intend to go in this direction ever again.

This is a new author to me, so I have no clue if this kind of thing appears in any of her other work. I'm hesitant to find out after running headlong into characters acting all wrong after an absolutely fabulous story through the majority of the book.

I love adult books but I do NOT love humiliation or women being forced into things they don't want to do no matter the pretext. And bringing Daddy in, to make the happy ever after work, is a whole other fetish than I ever want to experience.Those plot twists need labeling so readers can make informed choices.

I really wish this book had continued like it started. If it had, I would have cheerfully given it rave reviews and One-Clicked everything else the author had. It was that good until suddenly...it wasn't.

Makes me wish I'd hired a gigolo

What did you love best about 1/2 Cocked?

I loved how much care Colton took with Becca, his constant focus on making her feel good, not just physically but emotionally as well made this sweet, romantic while still being a smoking hot book.

What was one of the most memorable moments of 1/2 Cocked?

I loved the kamasutra lesson... sweet, caring and hot sex with a deep connection? Yes please! It made me want to find a class to take.

Which character – as performed by Marcio Catalano and Veronica Pace – was your favorite?

Colton was my favorite character but not just die to the narration, he was so open to the relationship forming between himself and Becca.

The dual narration worked well, the character voices each narrator used for the same character were different but that's to be expected. Marcio and Veronica's voices worked well together and the overall narration was smooth and consistent.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but unfortunately work got in the way and I had to stop, if time had allowed I would have listened to it all in one go.

The relationship forms quickly but it's fairly believable and the story is a good balance of sweet and sexy. I'm already planning to listen to it again.
