Audible and Amazon Serviços de Varejo do Brasil Ltda today introduced a localized service created exclusively for Brazilian listeners. Subscribers can access an unlimited catalog of more than 100,000 global audiobooks, including nearly 4,000 Portuguese titles, for R$19.90 per month, with the option to purchase any of the additional 500,000 titles at a 30 percent discount. Many of the Portuguese titles have never been available in audio before. Audible offers a 30-day free trial period for new users and three months free for Amazon Prime subscribers.

Brazilians who want to be more productive, better informed, and thoughtfully entertained can now relax at home, commute to work, walk the dog, or complete household tasks while filling their ears with immersive stories and enriching information. According to the Audible Compass 2023, developed by market research group Kantar and sponsored by Audible, ninety percent of Brazilians report having listened to audio storytelling via podcast or audiobooks. With Audible, even more Brazilians will gain access to memorable stories created and performed by talented authors and actors around the world and download them to listen at any time. The next generation of students can also prep for local college testing with nuanced audiobook performances of classic stories they need to read.

“We are thrilled to bring Audible to Brazil, and for the opportunity to support and augment Brazil’s rich literary and storytelling tradition,” said Bob Carrigan, CEO of Audible. “Millions of listeners around the world consider Audible to be an integral part of their everyday life, and we’ve worked with Brazilian talent to make sure the service and local content is reflective of the exceptional experience that has transformed the way so many people around the world now consume books.”
