The Capital Adventures

Aaron Havenes is serving hard labor in the colonies for a crime he didn’t commit. The last thing he wants to do is defend the Empire that chained him as a child. But when Aaron’s only friends are lured into the army with empty promises, Aaron vows to protect them at any cost, even if that means fighting monsters on behalf of a power that he loathes.

A battle-fleet of the Empire's finest has arrived in orbit around Aaron's little colony. They give him one demand: Surrender, or burn. Aaron didn’t win his freedom to give it up so easily. With the help of old friends and new recruits, he must now lead a rag-tag defense of a small border world colony against the full might of the Imperial war machine. But he never suspected one of his friends would conspire with the enemy.

Aaron Havenes and the Capitals barely survived the Imperial assault of Vanguard. And now one of their own is held captive. To get her back, Aaron seeks the help of pirate and smuggler Fiona McCorty. Fiona lost her power, her station, and now a friend to Imperial guns. Blinded by revenge, all she wants is a clean shot at the man responsible. Aaron can give that to her, but only if she helps in this foolish rescue mission.

Captain Osyen and his merry band of cutthroats and conmen were scratching out a living on the edge of Imperial controlled space. They were a ship full of degenerates, petty criminals, if not outright scum—so a full-blown Imperial Dreadnaught arriving to detain their ship seems like an overreaction.
