Each episode will cover various hiking topics, the 181 days we spent on the PCT, interviews with fellow hikers/trail angels, or even chats with gear junkies. We are a married couple who love hiking and ultra running. In 2022, we sold everything and embarked on the adventure of a lifetime hiking the Pacific Crest Trail with a continuous footpath, followed by completing the TMB. Listen in as we shoot the hiking breeze.

  • E39 | Trail Magic Along The CDT/CT
    Sep 30 2024

Episode Summary: Taking a step back from our traditional episode style, we did rapid interviews with CDT and (mainly) CT hikers along their treks here in Colorado while showing them some love…via trail magic! With free clothing and swag from Galena Mountain Projects (interviewed in episode 38), out-of-this-world dehydrated meals donated by Farm to Summit (a Durango, CO company), some good-hearted Samaritans from the Howe household (CO angels), and flapjacks from Cucumber and Bloom (PCT hikers), we all combined our efforts and pulled off a top-notch trail magic event for them. Listen in to see how these hikers’ treks were going in late July, and what tidbits they had to share. Enjoy!

  • E38 | Galena Mountain Projects | All About Place
    Sep 23 2024
Episode Summary: In this episode of YWIB we interview one of our FAVORITE outdoor (or even casual) brands which we stumbled upon in the adorable town of Leadville, CO. Galena Mountain Projects (or Galena) started with ideas and plots in a cold tent in even colder terrain- ideas to bring the outdoor mecca that is Leadville, to life…through guidebooks. From there, they evolved to selling outdoor/active clothing with a rustic Colorado flair. We’ve used their Sawatch bamboo sun hoodies on the Colorado Trail and basically every trail we’ve hiked since discovering them. Listen to Justin and David’s story about how thoughts became reality- something that sounds very similar to the making of your next thru hike or backpacking trip, right? Episode Summary: In this special Part 2 of our “Fireside Chats” on Yeti Walks Into Basecamp, we talk about Cuppa’s absolute obsession (possibly a fetish?) for Peak Refuel meals, throwing up out of both ends, who’s feet smell most foul, cuddling with a gorilla, the sky rolling black with midges, why Jedi’s stomach is quite possibly bottomless, and why hiking with Cuppa is only for the privileged.
