  • This episode we're talking about mermen! Whispers of the Deep by Emma Hamm is the first in her new series about merpeople and their humans. Ever since humans developed colonies in the oceans, the undine (merpeople), have been their enemies. Humans destroyed parts of the ocean to create new homes, angering the creatures already in the sea. Argus is given the task of kidnapping a human to learn their secrets so they can find a way to destroy the humans once and for all. Mira, an engineer living in Beta is his target. As they get to know each other, they realize that perhaps humans and the undine could get along. Will they be able to overcome decades of hate? Or will their differences prove to be too much?
