We are Believers: Podcast

By: Daria Hackenberg & Hollis P Monroe
  • Summary

  • We believe that we are all creators of our own realities. Everything is possible and impossible at the same time. If we change our perceptions, the world around us will change. In this podcast, we examine everyday life situations using a practice of honest self-reflection, clear communication and optimistic realism. Our goal is not to tell you what to do as we cannot claim to know the solution to every problem. We can only demonstrate our approach to living and express what we believe. • Is love a feeling or a choice?
    Dec 18 2020

Can we choose to love someone? In this episode, we ask: Is love a feeling or choice? In trying to find an answer, we share our fairly strong and different points of view.

    Throughout our conversation,
We examine the theory of one person who believes that love (or more specifically, being open to love) is always our choice.
We discussed the role of love in an abusive relationship.
We try to discover what we can choose in the relationship using logic and reasoning versus what our natural inclinations are regarding love as a feeling.
We even touch on the way our primal instincts are triggered by attributes such as appearance and odor to influence our desire or willingness to mate.

Is it possible to force ourselves to love someone when we don't actually feel it?

Can we choose to avoid or stop loving someone?

Do we have any control at all when it comes to love?

We would love to hear your thoughts on the topic so join the conversation!

Looking forward to hear from you!!

  • Who should pay on the first date?
    Oct 7 2020

“Does a man have to pay on a first date?”

People on the street were asked this question by actors from a popular German comedy show but the answers they received in the actual segment were not nearly as interesting as comments under the video.

One man had such a particularly grandiose justification of his position that we had no choice but to devote an entire episode to giving our take on his premise. This point of view surprised even ourselves!

In this episode, we discuss the main question of who should pay on the first date, we reflect upon the importance of first impressions and, as usual, we share some funny stories from our own first dates.

And now we turn the question to you.

Who do you think should pay on the first date?

Looking forward to hear from you!!
