Ezekial Hart was a successful businessman who developed a passion for politics and won a provincial legislative seat in a Trois-Riviere election - twice. The legislature refused to let him participate because of anti-semitism, and Ezekial was expelled both times. Ezekial returned to his hometown where he became active in lobbying for equal rights for Jews.
