    Aug 26 2021
    Episode Notes

Josh and Noelle hope the wait was worth it! We are so excited to share a supersized, super-awesome episode of Throwback Misadventures where we will be joined by a very special guest! This week, we chat with actor, cast member, babysitter, dishwasher, and all-around great guy Keith Coogan. That's right, we will be discussing the classics! 1987's wildly inappropriate (and heavily Disney+ edited!) Adventures in Babysitting, as well as 1991's inspirational child labor feature Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead! Keith shares personal anecdotes and behind-the-scenes nuggets of wisdom.

Join us for a fun and in-depth conversation where we ask the tough questions, including crispy waffle consumption, celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Fox and the Hound, shocking wig budgets, and how Keith kept a straight face during Anthony Rapp's hilarious facial reactions.

As always, we are super thankful for your support. We'd love to hear from you! Send us an email to podmisadventure@gmail.com or visit us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

  • S1E6 - A Shrektrospective
    Jun 10 2021

Get ready to celebrate 20 years of everyone’s favorite layered ogre! Let’s take a journey to Shrek’s karaoke dance party, where we’ll scream to “hear the roar” and dissect all 6 Shrek movies! Shine your shoes, wipe your face, and strap in for our ogre-sized Retro-Shrek-tive!

We will be talking about the following films: a bird-exploding examination of animal abuse titled 2001’s Shrek; what comes after happily ever after? A show-stopping rendition of “I Need A Hero” and a cute ass cat, it’s Shrek 2; let’s kill the king with more animal abuse since he’s a frog now! It’s Shrek the Third; a reality-twisting midlife crisis drama, Shrek Forever After; Humpty Dumpty and cat jokes—Puss in Boots; and Sutton Foster as an ogre in the disastrous fart Shrek: The Musical.

Who recorded 80-95% of their dialogue as the original Shrek? What’s our fave movie in the series? Are our singing skills up to snuff? There may or may not be a "I'm a Believer" duet... How about our hopes for Shrek 5? It’s all here and it’s all in the hands of THE MUFFIN MAN!

Find out what’s in store for future episodes (hint it’s very windy at the Drive-In) as we take a trip Far, Far Away… We'd love to hear from you! Send us an email to podmisadventure@gmail.com or visit us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

  • S1E5 - Disappointing DCOM Dump
    May 20 2021

After a short hiatus, Josh and Noelle are back for more! For our fifth episode, we are diving deep into the bowels of Disney Channel Original Movies to bring you a special episode where we discuss 5 of their biggest misfires! It’s time for a Disappointing DCOM Dump!

We will be talking about the following films: Horse Sense’s ugly stepsister, Ready to Run (2000); 90 minutes of Hawaiian background noise, Rip Girls (2000); Disney's Guide To Murder starring Banana Enthusiast Kirk Cameron, You Lucky Dog (1998); Disney’s Benjamin Button contract fulfillment for Tahj Mowry, The Poof Point (2001); and one of the most dull films of all time, 2001’s The Jennie Project!

We rate all 5 of these flops from least painful to most painful—though a convincing defense mounts for one film that ranks as a personal favorite. What ‘science experiment gone haywire’ DCOM movies are better than The Poof Point (spoiler alert: all of them)? Which DCOM is the equivalent of “Nothing” in Perks of Being a Wallflower? Which of your two hosts has a unique story about meeting Tahj Mowry that’s at least 10x more entertaining than the film itself?

Find out what’s in store for future episodes, and why Disney Channel Original Movies hold such a special place in our hearts, as we ‘Rip Girl’ into these duds. We'd love to hear from you! Send us an email to podmisadventure@gmail.com or visit us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

  • S1E4 - The Mighty Ducks
    Apr 8 2021

This week, join Josh and Noelle as they get duck’d not once, not twice, but four ducking times! Films covered on today’s episode are the Disney classics, 1992’s The Mighty Ducks, 1994’s D2: The Mighty Ducks, 1996’s D3: The Mighty Ducks, and 2021’s new Disney+ series, The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers.

We rank and discuss all four Mighty Ducks projects, as well as our expectations for forthcoming episodes of Game Changers. Which lead cast member sounds exactly like Michael J. Fox when you close your eyes? Is there really not a better team name than ‘The Don’t Bothers’? Why do sympathetic villains suddenly get a pass the moment they are given a backstory? Which one of us wants to be on the receiving end of Fulton’s famous slapshot? Why is D3 so inconsistent and frustrating? All this and more, as we unpack an episode featuring some of our most controversial opinions ever.

We'd love to hear from you! Send us an email to podmisadventure@gmail.com or visit us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

  • S1E3 - The Merry Men of Robin Hood
    Mar 25 2021

This week, join Josh and Noelle as they take a journey through the metaphorical hood of Locksley, home to the legendary archer/outlaw/rich-thief, Robin Hood! We are all about hot rankings this week, as we each rank the four Robin Hoods from hot to not (though let’s be honest, they’re all hot). We chat about Galavant connections, favorite characters, which Maid Marion is the most unbearable, a bear with tits made of gold coins and a big booty, and Jamie Dornan being smothered with a molotov cocktail. Don’t miss this highly intellectual and educational discussion, and be sure to chime in with your favorite version of this classic hero!
