• From Unplugging to Reigniting: Why I'm (slightly) Shifting Focus
    Nov 18 2024

    It’s been awhile since I’ve shared a solo episode with you - I've absolutely loved being in unplugged conversations with our incredible guests recently, but....

    ....today, I’m flying solo and for good reason. I’ve got something exciting to share with you today, and while it’s a shorter than usual episode it’s a pretty important one…well important enough to have an entire episode devoted to it.

    Have you ever had that feeling of something tugging at your heartstrings? That’s exactly what I’m sharing about in today’s episode. A direction that’s been tugging at my heartstrings - I’ve been getting subtle signs and decided to be courageous and follow my heart.

    In this episode, I speak about:

    • Why I started this podcast in the first place;

    • A little story of where I am now; and

    • The direction I’m focusing on moving forward, which is guiding and supporting Mamas.

    • What you can expect from this podcast.

    I would love to get this conversation in front of as many people as possible because I truly, truly believe it could be supportive for a Mama in your life. With that said It would be a massive help If you shared this episode with ONE Mama. Just one, perhaps someone who might benefit from unplugging from social media and reigniting the spark in their heart.

    While you’re at it I’d be so grateful if you could tap the follow or subscribe button, and leave a 5* rating or review in whichever platform you're tuning-in on - that way you’ll be in the know when new episodes are released.

    AND, if you want to be kept in the loop with what’s what in my world between episodes come on over and join The JOLO Journal, my community letter that lands in your inbox each week (and not in a spammy way, that’s not my vibe). OR head on over to Instagram to catch updates there too.

    Have a question or topic you'd like me to speak about? Submit it here.

    Until next episode…you’ve got this, Mama. We’ve got this!

  • EP 14: UNPLUGGED with Katherine MacKenzie-Smith - Creating a Cozy Business and Redefining Success
    Sep 18 2024
    If you’re done with hustle-culture and specifically hustle-fuelled business narratives that tell you life and biz should be done a certain way, then today’s episode with Katherine MacKenzie-Smith is going to support you to rewrite those narratives and introduce to a beautiful concept called, Cozy Business. I want to preface our conversation by saying that I’ve been part of Katherine’s beautiful community for a couple of years now and I can hand on heart say it is one of my favourite places to hang out on the internet and she has supported me with so many facets of my business. As with all biz-related conversations on the podcast, there’s always something in here for you even if you’re not in biz, and Katherine shares so many golden nuggets that can be applied to life too. Katherine is an award-winning business coach and strategist for service-based solopreneurs, an Energy + Soul Practitioner, and host of the Cozy Business With Katherine podcast. Through her 1:1 mentoring, group programs, and business memberships, Katherine supports gentle leaders and soloprenuers to create successful, sustainable cozy businesses through their own innate energy and strengths, without the empire-building pressure. As an introvert, Projector in Human Design, and neurodivergent soul, Katherine has learnt first hand the importance of building a business that focuses on your needs and strengths first and finding the strategies and systems to best serve you. Katherine recently won International Coach of the Year 2023, is nominated for the 2024 International Coach, Business Coach, and Asia Pacific Coach of the Decade (which she won) and has been named a ‘self help guru’ by Elle Magazine, as well as being featured in a number of publications, podcasts, and websites including Cleo Magazine, Collective Hub, Inspired Coach, and The Introvert Entrepreneur. === In this episode Katherine shares about: - The concept of Cozy Business; - Unplugging from conditioning; - The impact social media has on our definition of success; - Practical steps for creating a cozy business; And as always….so much more! After my conversation with Katherine I walked away feeling as if anything is possible, because when we honour our definition of success, acknowledge our values and anchor into the vision we have for ourselves in life and biz…what’s possible is within reach and accessible to us. Katherine creates the most value-packed free goodies, and as I’ve mentioned has a beautiful, supportive online community over at the Cozy Business Common Room, so be sure to check out all the places you can connect with her via the links below: https://instagram.com/miss_kms https://facebook.com/katherinemackenziesmithcoaching https://youtube.com/katherinemackenziesmith https://katherinemackenziesmith.com/compass (for the freebie) https://katherinemackenziesmith.com/podcasthttps://katherinemackenziesmith.com/common-room (for The Cozy Business Common Room) I would love to get this conversation in front of as many people as possible because I truly, truly believe it could be a gamechanger for someone you know. With that said It would be a massive help If you shared this episode with ONE person. Just one, perhaps someone who might benefit from this concept of cozy business or needs a permission slip to redefine success for themselves. While you’re at it I’d be so grateful if you could tap the follow or subscribe button, and leave a 5* rating or review in whichever platform you're tuning-in on - that way you’ll be in the know when new episodes are released. • EP 12: UNPLUGGED with Jaci Rogash - Trauma, Healing and Embracing Your Inner Warrior
    Aug 19 2024
    In this episode I’m in an unplugged conversation with Trauma-Informed Transformation and Energy Coach, Breathwork Facilitator and International Speaker, Jaci Rogash. This is one of those conversations that will stick with me for years to come. Quite often it’s not until after these conversations have been had and integration has taken place that the medicine is felt, but gosh throughout this episode I could really feel that free flowing medicine. My conversation with Jaci healed parts of me I didn’t even know needed healing. As a DIY Podcast host - as in I do everything myself - I go back and relisten to the recorded conversation anywhere between 2-3 times so I can get a good feel for the episode before I record the intro and outro. Each time I listened back to my conversation with Jaci, I could physically feel parts of myself softening, being acknowledged, and a sense of alignment taking place. These are parts I didn’t know even needed healing, but alas they did and alas they were. I have a feeling, like me, this could me a healing episode for many who tune-in. === Jaci works with women who have experienced trauma or adversity that still impacts the way they live their life today and loves supporting people to go from feeling heavy and exhausted to fully alive. Jaci is an expert in the trauma field, having worked within the trauma space for 13 years along with her own personal, lived experience. She lives in Melbourne and is a Mum of 2 boys, and fur-mum to a dog and cat. Jaci loves adventure, sports, getting outdoors and creating space for her own self care rituals, which now feels like such a treat. === In this unplugged conversation Jaci lovingly and generously shares her story around growing up and her trauma experiences, and what ultimately lead to her do the powerful work she does today. We also talk about: the cycle of healing; and the liberation that comes with that; The impact of social media on trauma awareness; The current stage of our lives as Mothers with young children; Embracing your Inner Warrior; Intentional and present self-care practices; And much more, so much more. Here’s how you can connect with Jaci: Website: www.jacirogash.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jaci.rogash/ Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/thewarriorwithincommunity Podcast: https://www.jacirogash.com/thewarriorwithin I hope today’s episode with Jaci gives you permission to embrace your Inner Warrior, get curious about the cycle of healing, and above all else allows you to see the power and medicine in having conversations like this to share your story - because it matters and you matter. Do you know what would be a massive help? If you shared this episode with ONE person, either by sending it through to someone who might benefit from it or by sparking a conversation around what you learned from our conversation today. • EP 11: UNPLUGGED with Tahryn Bolt - The Biz Wiz behind The Social Bolt
    Aug 5 2024
    Have you ever been in a room with a real-life legitimate wizard? Well today's your lucky day. In this episode I’m in an unplugged conversation with the Biz Wizard behind The Social Bolt, Tahryn Bolt. If you’re thinking about starting a business, new to business or been in biz for awhile then this episode has your name written all over it. If you’re not in biz I invite you to stick around because what Tahryn shares is relatable and applicable to everyday life with a few reality checks thrown in for good measure. Tahryn’s podcast, “How I Do Content” was the first podcast I was a guest on, so to have Tahryn on The Unplugged Woman, Unplugged is such a gift. I can’t wait to get started but before we do…here’s a little more about Tahryn: Tahryn is a marketing + messaging wizard (aka Marketing + Messaging Mentor for the muggles). As a raging introvert she knows the secret to business success is to embrace your unique blend of magic and do business in a way that works for YOU. She supports her clients to grow in-demand businesses and call in Beyonce level clients on repeat using the magic of a simplified strategy, magical marketing & micro-messaging. She's built a 6-figure business based around the things she loves and being authentic in the process. Tahryn works alongside her Barketing Manager Ned (her 11 year old Border Collie) and Barketing Intern Maggie the Menace and they love to curl up on the couch, with a glass of red wine in hand, watching Harry Potter. She also thinks pineapple on pizza should be illegal. === In this unplugged conversation we talk about: Embracing your unique blend of magic and showing up authentically online; Navigating the messy times in business while continuing to share your magic; The power of repetition and creating strong foundations Staying true to your introverted nature in a noisy, often very extroverted space And so much more. Tahryn is refreshingly real, and our unplugged conversation felt like one big permission slip to do life and biz your way. Here’s how you can connect with Tahryn: Website: https://thesocialbolt.com.au Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thesocialbolt/How I Do Content Podcast: https://howidocontent.buzzsprout.com/share - when I said you should go listen to Tahryn’s podcast, I truly mean it - each episode is jam packed with amazing, practical value. I hope you feel the Biz Wiz magic in this conversation as much as I did. What I loved so much about this conversation is the reminder to go back to basics, create solid foundations and show-up as ourselves. We are the magic, we just have to believe it and start sharing it! Do you know what would be a massive help? • EP 10: UNPLUGGED with Stephanie MacKinnon - Connection, Community, Capitalism.
    Jul 21 2024

    If like me you think about capitalism and roll your eyes, or you’ve placed conversations around capitalism in the too hard basket or you think it’s a bit beyond you, then this episode is for you.

    Stephanie has a beautiful way of breaking down what capitalism is, how it impacts us and how it shows up in our day to day lives. She provides thought provoking concepts, questions, and insights.

    Stephanie is a bridge making this work around anti-capitalism more accessible, and leading the way in which we can be more present and aware of how capitalism presents itself and how while living within a capitalist system we can question it and get curious about it for ourselves.

    Stephanie and I met while studying to become Life Coaches through the Beautiful You Life Coaching Academy in 2020, and while we’ve never met each other in person, being in space together for this episode was an absolute delight.

    I came away from our conversation feeling inspired, optimistic, hopeful, more informed, educated and armed with practical, tangible, yet super simple actions to implement.

    I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did.

    In this conversation we dive into:

    • Filling your cup as a starting point for connection and joy;

    • Understanding capitalism and its day-to-day impact;

    • Redefining success;

    • Radical imagination;

    • Social media and capitalism;

    • Creating space for reflection and connection;

    • Ways in which we can start opting out of capitalism

    And do much more!

  • EP 9: Ripping Off the Band-Aid
    Jul 6 2024

    I ripped off the band-aid and finally hit record on this episode. Yay!

    It's very riff-like in nature - it was the only way I felt this episode was ever going to get recorded. There's no intro or outro, but it's here and I love it!

    This episode went in a few different directions, and truthfully it took me a little while to warm-up...but bear with me as I hit record, decided not to do any editing, so what you're hearing is the raw copy. AND, I actually really like it.

    In this solo episode I share:

    • Why I had to press pause on my podcast last year;
    • What my intention is moving forward:
    • Why we need to rip off the band-aid;
    • A very short insight into my year unplugged - which I'll be breaking down in future episodes: and
    • a whole lot more.

  • E8: Unplugged with Sussana Christine - Menstrual Awareness and Cyclical Living
    Sep 6 2023

    If you menstruate or know someone who menstruates, today's episode about menstrual awareness and cyclical living is for you.

    In today's episode my guest, Sussana Christine opens the space and conversation around menstrual aware and cyclical living. In her work as a Menstrual Cycle Coach she supports people who menstruate to create a deeper connection, awareness and understanding of their menstruating body and changing cyclical needs, so that they may embrace and embody a cyclical experience that works for them.

    The work Sussana is doing in this space can mean the difference between someone experiencing cyclical empowerment or cyclical shame - and while we have access to information at our fingertips, there’s nothing quite like having someone, such as Sussana, supporting, guiding, and coaching people who menstruate at any stage of their cyclical journey.

    In this unplugged conversation we chat about:

    - Sussana's menstrual journey and how it motivated and inspired her down the path to becoming a Menstrual Cycle Coach;

    - Our first periods, and how her work with tweens, through First Moon Circles, is an empowering alternative to traditional period education;

    - The importance of our maternal lineage, and the way stories/beliefs around menstruation are passed down;

    - The 4-phases of a menstrual cycle and how you can track your own cycle in a way that works for you; AND so much more.

    This episode will invite you to reflect on your own menstrual journey, and have a better understanding of those who are on they own, unique menstrual experience too.

    I absolutely loved our conversation and I hope you do too.
