They were filled with the power of God. “And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles.” — Acts 2:43 The signs and wonders in Scripture are connected to the redemptive work of Christ. “To encounter the living, holy, and all-gracious God truly means that we cannot contain ourselves. He is not a truth to be known unaffectedly, or a good to be received listlessly. Seen clearly, the dazzling beauty and splendor of God must cause our hearts to quake.” — Michael Reeves, Rejoice and Tremble When the Spirit of God fills the people of God, the power of God is made visible. 3.
