  • Summary

  • What if the world isn't a terrible place? What if the headlines are where God's best work is being done? These podcasts are a collection of my scribbled notes when I watch a movie, listen to a song, or chat with a friend. I truly believe that there is something to learn from every interaction we have with one another and the world around us. So every week we will uncover what is sacred but often unseen within a pop culture phenomenon. Welcome to Sacred Culture!

  • What Bridgerton Can Teach Us About Society, Sex, and Consent - Guest Mackenzie Wright
    Feb 28 2021

If you haven't watched Bridgerton yet, you're missing out! This show has captivated so many with its brilliant storytelling, costuming, and ability to show us that our society today isn't that different from the 1800s. My friend Mackenzie and I loved the show and how it brought up issues regarding women, consent, and lack of sexual education. Check it out and let me know what you think! @sacredculturepodcast

  • How Wonder Woman Reminded Us That We Are Enough - Guest Rev. Macie Liptoi
    Feb 7 2021

Wonder Woman 1984 has been out a while and whether you loved it or hated it there are a ton of themes of self-worth and value to explore! My good friend, Rev. Macie Liptoi helped me think through so many intricate parts of this movie that I missed. This movie showcases that finding self-worth is more than just quick goals or even achieving your dreams. Self-worth comes from accepting yourself no matter your income, relationship status, job, or any other worldly identifier. Self-worth grows when we truly see ourselves as worthy of unconditional love.

  • Moana's Grief Journey and the Dead Dad's Club - Guest Emilee Maxwell
    Jan 29 2021

I recorded this episode a while ago! It was hard to edit and post. Talking about grief is so healing but still so difficult. For this episode, Emilee Maxwell shares the story of losing her grandma and how she is able to see her grandma through the movie Moana. As we continued to chat we realized that the movie isn't just about a fun Disney adventure but is about Moana's journey through grief and finding peace after losing someone dear.
