With each year, it is a good idea to think about your previous year highs and lows. To take inventory of the things you did well and the things you still need to work on. Of course, you don't know what you do not know. Therefore, learning is a major part of your development from where you were to where you are going. Remember life is always what you make it.

  • Wounded not Broken

    Abuse comes in many shapes and forms. It comes to some of us at birth. For others, it comes out of nowhere. It can rob us of our happiness and joy by causing us to become depressed and fearful. That pain leaves scars. Even though we may be physically, mentally, or verbally abused, we are not damaged goods. We can choose happiness by focusing on the necessary work to get ourselves out of the situation. We can do it by seeking help, distance, or termination with the relationships. And, if we turn out to be the abuser, we can find happiness in the same way as the victim, through seeking help to heal whatever is causing us to seek the need to victimize another.

  • Fear inside of your happiness plan

    Fear is something necessary or limiting. It is necessary when you need to protect yourself from immediate danger. On the other hand, fear can limit you from achieving your happiness. Recognizing when fear is necessary because you are in danger versus when it is just a phobia helps you to break free from your limitations. Things happen in this funny thing called life. Fear can seem to come out of nowhere, sometimes. Staying present helps you to classify the kind of fear you are experiencing. If it is fear that is to keep you alive, it is critical that you know this fear in the right situation. If it is fear-based on a phobia or lack of experience, this can be sorted with techniques like therapy, exposure, or switching the focus from the fear to something else.

  • Follow your happiness

    It is easy to follow along with whatever is told to you. What great person in anything ever did that? You achieve your highest success in life by following your happiness. In the beginning, you are mapping your happiness with experience. After you have experience, you can outline your actual happiness from perceived happiness. Letting someone else project onto you their fears or disbelief in your life is the quickest way to end up moderately happy. How much fun is that? Living your life for you is the only way to ensure your happiness will be achieved at the maximum possible level. That does not mean anything negative will ever happen to you. That would be foolish to think. It means you are doing all that is within your power to see that you are happy and on the right path. Everyone has a journey, make this one about you.

  • Can‘t be all work with no play

    In this episode, I discuss taking time out for yourself for fun. It cannot be all work with no play. You will cause yourself to burn out. Instead of giving you all every second of the day, give yourself permission to say no to some things on your list to allow for 'you' time. Take a day or a moment to relax and do nothing, if that is what you need. Give yourself the chance to breathe. If work is consuming your time, schedule around it. If you are sitting all day, try to incorporate a podcast or an audiobook in the background to help you with your happiness focusing throughout the day.

  • Identifying your why through experience

    Today's episode is focused on your career. Before you go all-in on a direction, try to schedule a shadow day or speak with a person already in that field. Exposure can do one of two things: Motivate you to continue or terrify you into quitting. Quitting a concept that was given to you by someone else is a blessing. Going all in without knowing where you are headed, is like driving with a blindfold during a storm. You may end up where you want to be or you may be highly disappointed. Know before you go is a good motto.
