    NAFTA was a trade deal between the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, signed in 1992 and enacted in 1994, aimed at eliminating trade barriers and boosting economic cooperation. It removed tariffs and allowed for easier movement of goods, services, and investments across the three countries.
