On any camping trip, whether it be a single night or a multi-day trip there is an ulterior motive as to why we are camping. It may be to get from point A to point B, it may be for that special fishing adventure, or it could be for just a short escape where you do nothing but just relax. Doing some planning prior to starting your adventure, even just the basics can make a big difference between having a good trip or having a great trip.

Do your research! The longer the trip the more research is needed. The internet and fellow campers are just some options to help with your planning.

So why do people camp? In answering this question there is no one single answer, whether we go camping as individuals, as a couple, as friends, or as a family, the reasons will often vary and while there may be similarities everyone will have their own 'why'. In recording this podcast episode Gill and I didn't have to think to much about why we camp, we have very clear reasons for opting to go camping, but are other people this transparent in their motivations?
