    We've heard the name Newton (Newt) Collier several times over the first 19 episodes, and today we have the opportunity to hear from the musical icon and music historian himself. Collier grew up in Macon and began his musical journey on the piano. He picked up the trumpet at age 10, and after graduating high school, toured internationally with Sam and Dave. He also performed with Clarence Carter, Percy Sledge and many, many more.

    Collier's musical career connected him with many other musicians who came through Macon, and his knowledge of Macon's musical history is incredibly vast, and this conversation flew by as he shared stories about his career and the careers of those whose paths crossed with his.
