God worked through Gideon and then Gideon struggled to maintain his personal walk with God. This serves as a warning for everyone.

We should seek to humbly honor the Lord in all we do. Do you let God impact your walk?

Today in Judges we meet Gideon, a timid man and learn about his interaction with a patient and present God.

The passage today tells the story of two women who step up in a big way to honor the Lord and provide for His people. Listen along to hear about Deborah and Jael and the role they play in the story of Israel.

Today our passage introduces us to three judges; Othniel, Ehud & Shamgar. God used each of these individuals in different ways to bring mercy to the Israelites.

Living life with Jesus needs to be intentional. If you aren't working to keep your relationship with Jesus you will start to drift and when you drift you end up further away from the Lord and need to cry out for his mercy.

Are you grateful for God's great kindness and mercy?

The children of Israel did evil in the eyes of the Lord. They lived among God's enemies and were not willing to obey God. Thankfully God is still compassionate even though they chose to disobey.

We begin our series in the book of Judges today.

We can see God's great passion towards his people as they move into the land He gave them.

God wanted the children of Israel to follow Him and His law, then they would become an example to those around them.

Are you following God and His word or are you following yourself and what you think works best for you?

This week we are looking back at how God delivered the Israelites and the leaders he appointed to lead them out of Egypt, Moses and Joshua.

The book of Judges covers the next 400 years after the death of Joshua. It will show us the struggles that they had and will also show us that generational faithfulness is very important and also very difficult to maintain.
