• Summer Series, Ep.22: We meet... Daron Rahlves

    In this episode, Alan and I had the great pleasure to welcome Daron Rahlves to Skiing is Believing. He shared with us some fantastic experiences from when Daron was crowned world Super-G champion in St. Anton in 2001 to the importance of confidence in sport. Daron told us his personal importance of confidence and how that self-belief allowed the results to become better and better at certain times of his career. Daron also told us a fascinating story about someone he worked with he told him he couldn't be a downhiller yet to this day, Daron Rahlves is America's most successful male Downhill ski racer with 20 podiums and 9 victories. Daron also shared with us the importance of confidence in ski racing which he, at times in his career, was able to carry from race to race. He also told us about the importance of mental imagery and how this helped him nail some of the hardest tracks in the world. Please let us know what you think.   • Coach's Corner, Ep.01: We meet... Sasha Rearick

    In our first coach's corner episode (brought to you by Ski Racing Media), Alan and I had the privilege to welcome one of America's greatest ski racing coaches, Sasha Rearick, to the Skiing is Believing podcast. Sasha spoke to us about the importance of becoming a teacher before you can be regarded as a coach and how this is the sort of mindset that has carried him through his career and that all coaches should have. He shared some fantastic experiences from his decade working with the USA's finest male FIS WC racers to the current to the applaudable work he is now doing with the young skiers of the fantastic Apex2100 project. Apex2100 is a fabulous programme that is giving young racers the opportunity to come through to fulfill their ski racing dreams alongside some of the best coaches in the world.
