Sailing Into Oblivion Podcast

By: Jerome Rand
  • Summary

  • After my 2012 Thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail, my life was changed forever. The challenge of big adventure had me hooked. I soon set a goal of sailing alone and without stopping around the world. In 2017-18, I did just that! Since then, I have taken my podcast aboard my Westsail32 as well as in my everyday life. The shows are a mix of my own past experiences along with interviews of everyday people that have a seemingly endless number of stories themselves. • EP#273 Welcome to the Chart Room, Sailing Route for a non-stop circumnavigation
    Sep 16 2024

Time for another solo show after so many wonderful guests. Tonight, from the deep lonely woods of JeromesTown, we pull out the world charts and discuss the topic and route of a non-stop circumnavigation. Everything from currents to wind and everything in-between. I keep the pace up as it is a lot of information to squeeze into an hour but I think I did pretty well. Thanks for listening.

  • EP#272 The Four-Part Show
    Sep 14 2024

Today I have a little something different, four short conversations with four guests. Jerome and I talk about a sailing book, Jacob and I chat about racing and sailing, Logan and I talk about working hard and medical school and finally Jim Bob joins the show to tell the story of his near-death Hang-Gliding accident in Northwest Australia back in the 1970's. I hope you enjoy the stories and thanks for listening.

Great read

Loved this book. I like when the author narrates usually and this one didn't disappoint. Great story, only hope my circumnavigation is as amazing as his was.

Easy listening podcast actually about sailing

Tells many stories for work-bound sailors and dreamers like me. He is kind and humane in his retelling, softens the edges of his experiences taking responsibility for the bad and acknowledging his general overall good luck in life. I like his guest interview format, he allows his guest to speak and brings out interesting things and events. Jerome also talks about his own experiences and brings the places he has been to life for folks who might never get to these spots. Keep up the good work Jerome -
