  • Summary

  • A few years ago, Rachel Shenton had an idea for a film about a deaf girl born to a hearing family. She’d never written a screenplay before, but she put it to paper -- and ended up scraping together enough money to get it made. What happened next took everyone by surprise.-------------Links:Action on Hearing Losswww.actiononhearingloss.org.ukFor more from Rachel:https://twitter.com/RachelShentonFor Bryony's latest column:http://bit.ly/2TMy439See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

ACG&S fan, now a huge fan of Rachel Stenton. Great listen!

Highly recommend! Uplifting and informative. Rachel walks us through her journey from her father’s disability, her involvement with the deaf community and fundraising, writing and making the movie, the importance of the Oscars in raising awareness in a mainstream audience, and portraying diversity in an inclusive and sensitive way. It’s just an amazing conversation.
